Today’s tea is rose — and you may be thinking, oh this is an easy discussion. but Gentle Reader, I'm going to take you much deeper into the wisdom of the rose and hope per chance that you may now and forever on, see the rose with a very different perspective and awareness.
A rose is not just a flavor or a fragrance. It's a message the Western world has been whispering to itself for thousands of years.

The rose has long been the symbol of love, beauty and inner truth. It has held that role not because it is delicate — but because it is layered...
A rose is soft and it is thorned. It's extremely fragrant and yet, quite guarded. At the same time, it is open and protected. Just like the human heart.
Drinking rose tea is not about romance first. It is about a relationship with yourself.
In Western esoteric wisdom traditions, the rose represents the unfolding soul. Each petal is a layer of consciousness. ...

This morning’s tea felt like opening a tiny magical doorway, since it came from my Harry Potter Advent Calendar, gifted to me at Christmas and hiding ninety-six enchanting little teas behind its doors.

Today, behind Door 22, was a bright and spirited blend: Lemon & Ginger with lemon, ginger, lemongrass, and fennel from New English Teas in Coventry:
AÂ classic name, but the energy? This one is a duo with personality.

From the first breath of steam, I could feel the shift. This tea doesn’t gently introduce itself—it enters the room. Lemon opens the windows. Ginger flips on the lights. Lemongrass sweeps out whatever doesn’t belong and Fennel brings everyone together with a soft, sweet assurance that everything little thing will be alright.
I must tell you the thought that occurred to me as I sipped...
If Lemon and Ginger were two women who ran a business together, they would be the most dynamic pair in the entire botanical kingdom.
Lemon is the bright one—crisp, sunny, optimist...

Today’s tea arrived carrying a story.
Not just a flavor, but a lineage—one that traveled across oceans and time before landing gently in my cup. Today I chose Tippy Assam from Whittard, a black tea brought back from England by a dear friend. And somehow, that alone made the experience feel layered with meaning—tea as messenger, tea as bridge, tea as shared memory.

Tippy Assam comes from the Assam region of India, known for its rich soil, humid climate, and powerful monsoon rains. This is a land that produces teas with depth, body, and character—teas that do not rush to introduce themselves. Assam tea is bold yet nuanced, strong yet refined. The “tips” refer to the golden young leaf buds harvested at just the right moment, adding natural sweetness and complexity to the brew.
From the first sip, this tea feels anchoring. If I were to describe it like a fine wine, I might say malty, full-bodied, slightly honeyed, with a grounding richness that settles into the body rather than skat...
Day Four arrived with a different request from my body and spirit.
Not rest.
Not softness.
But movement.
So today’s cup was Peppermint from Twinings—fresh, crisp, unapologetically alive. This is not a tea that whispers you into stillness. Peppermint wakes you up, shakes the energy loose, and says, Let’s circulate. Let’s breathe. Let’s go.

From the very first sip, peppermint announces itself through sensation. Cool on the tongue. Bright in the breath. Expansive in the chest. It feels like opening windows inside the body—suddenly there is more space, more airflow, more clarity.
There is something especially powerful about peppermint in January. In the heart of winter—when the air is cold, the days are quiet, and the body naturally slows—peppermint feels like a spark of green life beneath the snow. It doesn’t fight the season; it enlivens it. While winter asks us to rest and reflect, peppermint ensures we don’t stagnate. It keeps energy circulating, spirits lifted, and awareness sha...

Today’s tea carried me not just into stillness—but through time.

For today’s cup, I chose the Downton Estate Blend by The Republic of Tea—an Earl Grey infused with bergamot orange oil and a soft whisper of vanilla. From the very first inhale, this tea announces itself not as a beverage, but as an experience. One breath and you are no longer simply in your kitchen—you are standing at the threshold of another era.
The aroma alone is transportive. Bright citrus from the bergamot lifts the mind immediately, awakening clarity and refinement, while the vanilla weaves in a gentle warmth—comforting, elegant, and familiar. Together, they create a sensory bridge between alertness and ease, much like the rhythm of life in the Edwardian and early 20th-century world this tea evokes.
Historically, tea was not a hurried habit—it was ceremony, structure, and social ritual. In the world of Downton Abbey, tea marked transitions in the day. It was a pause between duties. A moment of civility, refl...
For Day Two of my tea journey, I chose Elderberry Yaupon—a blend from the Asheville Tea Company that feels like a quiet guardian, a wise companion walking beside you rather than urging you forward. This is not the tea of ignition; it is the tea of integration.
There is something ancient about elderberry. Long associated with protection, immunity, and ancestral wisdom, elder has been used for centuries as both medicine and magic. It carries the frequency of resilience—the kind that doesn’t shout, but endures. On a physical level, elderberry supports the immune system and nourishes the body gently, reminding us that strength does not have to be forceful to be effective.
Yaupon, the only native caffeinated plant of North America, brings a steady, grounded clarity. Unlike the sharp spike of coffee, yaupon offers a clean, even energy—alert yet calm, awake without agitation. It supports focus, digestion, and ment...

Today, the journey officially begins.
This morning, I welcomed the first cup of my 365-day tea ritual with something both grounding and invigorating—chai. It felt like the perfect companion for day one. Not too gentle, not too forceful. Warming. Awakening. Anchoring. A tea that says, “We’re here. Let’s begin.”

Chai is more than a flavor—it’s a conversation between spices, an alchemy of elements that mirrors the way we move through life. Black tea for focus and clarity. Cinnamon for circulation and warmth. Cardamom to open the heart and lift the mood. Ginger to awaken the body and stir creative fire. Clove to ground and protect. Each ingredient carries its own intelligence, its own medicine, and together they create something far greater than the sum of their parts. The tea this morning is from Twinings of London.
As I sat with my cup this morning, steam rising like a soft prayer, I became aware of how perfectly chai embodies the energy of beginning. It’s energizing without being...
Greetings, Phoenix Souls and Wisdom Keepers,Â
Today we're going to discuss, What the Shift of Seasons Teaches the Soul
As the wheel of the year turns, the blazing vitality of summer gives way to the golden embrace of autumn. The Fall Equinox is a sacred threshold—day and night balanced in perfect harmony—inviting us to pause, breathe, and honor the cycles of our own becoming.
Summer’s fire was about outward expression: growth, activity, and abundance.
Now, the energy shifts.
The harvest season calls us inward, to gather what has matured, to reflect on what we’ve created, and to prepare for the quieter journey of winter.
Just as the trees shed their leaves, we are invited to release what has served its purpose and make space for what is to come.
The Equinox is the great teacher of balance. Light and shadow are equal, reminding us that wholeness is born not from clinging to one side, but from holding both.
This is a time to align the outer and the inner—to bring into harmony ...
