The Enchantment of Fall - Insights with Kala

 Dear Beautiful Souls,

It’s Fall in the mountains — and oh, what a breathtaking sight it is. The air has turned crisp and alive, carrying that unmistakable scent of woodsmoke and leaves just beginning to let go. The trees are transforming day by day into cascades of amber, gold, and crimson — like the earth herself is painting with fire before the quiet hush of winter arrives.

Each morning here begins with mist rising from the valleys, curling like whispers of ancient spirits awakening the land. The days are shorter now, but filled with that golden-hour glow that makes every view out the window feel sacred.

As I prepare for Halloween — my favorite time of year — I find myself decorating not just my home, but also my spirit. Candles are being lit, the witch tree is shimmering with new ornaments, and a few friendly spirits, (the kind that bring laughter and good energy, of course) have taken up residence in the living room. My Blues Brothers skeleton is rocking on the front porch, reminding me that life, even in its spookiest moments, is meant to be a party! 

Fall invites us to slow down and soak it all in — the cozy sweaters, the warm glow of light, the crunch of leaves underfoot, the taste of apple cider and pumpkin spice, and the knowing that this season, more than any other, reminds us to honor the cycles. To let go of what’s complete, to celebrate what’s still unfolding, and to prepare our hearts for new beginnings.

Ok, let's check out some more of my Halloween décor, some mountain living magic, and a few mystical surprises I’ve been working on behind the scenes.

My table is set for Halloween. Some of you who have followed me for a while, know my table is often set this time of year for a Dinner with Spirit. The event is intended to reach out and connect with our loved ones on the other side, by inviting them to a special dinner held in their honor. Each guest brings a favorite dish of their loved one to share at the dinner. People who attend this dinner with me have found it to be transformational as they connect with the other side. 

This year, as I am adjusting to my new home and my new life in the Enchanted Forest, my table is lighthearted with Halloween fun. I am still connecting with the energy of the land here and am keeping things open and inviting, including sharing my ghost who lights the path ahead.

Over in the kitchen, the Witches Brew cauldron is keeping things warm.

And I have the perfect glasses ready to enjoy a spirit filled toast with guests. 

I'm calling my drink this year a Ghostini! :)

Or maybe we'll make some Sangria in my Sacred Potions Pitcher! 

It's always important to remember when hosting a gathering, to create standards and boundaries, so a list of rules and guidelines can help keep things from getting out of hand...

While I'm inside stirring up some Halloween juju, out here in the Enchanted Forest, Mama Bear and the cubs drop by my front porch this the morning for a quick hello. In my driveway I have a Broom Parking sign hanging up, I wonder if I should change that to say Bear Lounging Area.  ;)
