It is about tending to the heart. This is the season when love rises in the collective consciousness field — not only the love we give to others, but the love we are asked to offer ourselves. And tea, as always, is the perfect companion for this kind of remembering. Tea, as we've discussed here frequently, is a ritual for the mind body and spirit.
So this week, instead of waiting for love to arrive from the outside, we can brew it from within. I'd like to share some tea ritual ideas for you to try with me.

Begin one morning with a tea that softens and awakens the heart — rose, vanilla chai, or hibiscus.
As the water heats, place your hands over your heart and breathe slowly. Let the steam rise and engage your senses. When you sip, imagine the warmth moving through your chest, reminding your body what gentleness feels like.
This ritual is for:
• self-love
• emotional safety
• tenderness
• starting the day in connection rather than hurry
It sets the tone: “Today, I meet life with an open heart.”
In the afternoon, choose a tea that carries comfort and brightness — orange, cinnamon, or a fruit blend.
Pair it with something small and sensual: a cookie, a piece of chocolate, a candle, or a favorite cup. Sit without your phone. Let pleasure be simple and present. Pay attention to taste and texture.
This ritual is about:
• allowing sweetness
• enjoying without earning
• remembering joy
It teaches the nervous system that goodness does not have to be dramatic to be real. This says: To drink tea intentionally during Valentine’s week is to let plants help you speak the language of love in your own body.
As night approaches, prepare a calming tea — chamomile, lavender, or rooibos. Dim the lights. Let the day soften. Drink slowly and reflect on one thing that opened your heart today.
This ritual is for:
• gratitude
• emotional integration
• nervous system repair
• closing the day with kindness
It says: “I honor the love that moved through me today.”
On Valentine’s Day, choose one tea that feels special to you. Brew it slowly. Sit with it as if it were a guest you invited into your life.
You might say quietly: “May I know love in its many forms — in myself, in others, and in the world.”
Then drink.
Love is not an event or holiday, it is a daily practice. Holidays serve to create rituals that teach and remind us how to open to the deeper meaning of life, slowly, warmly, with attention, with gratitude and with openness. Perhaps this year, take the time to study each holiday throughout the year and discern what deeper meaning stems from each one.
For today, as the steam rises, the tea seems to say: “Love does not need to be rushed. It needs to be brewed.”
Here’s to hearts tended to gently, to rituals that soften time, and to the quiet way love arrives when we slow down enough to taste it.
