Mango, Bergamot & the Taste of Sunshine

Today’s tea felt like a little celebration with the element of surprise.

After the deep earthiness of Tippy Assam yesterday, this morning called for something brighter—something with a little sparkle, a little whimsy, a little “I’m on Day Six and I’m really doing this!” So I selected Mango & Bergamot Green Tea from Whittard, a blend that I will now describe as

... tastes like a sunbeam with very good manners.

From the first inhale, this tea opened the door to a different mood entirely—fruity, floral, bright, and quietly joyful. Mango and bergamot create a duet that shouldn’t work as well as it does, yet somehow they meet in the perfect place between playfulness and elegance.

Mango brings sweetness, warmth, and creative life-force—the energy of summer afternoons, golden light, joy, and ease. Metaphysically, mango resonates with the sacral chakra, supporting emotional flow, creativity, sensuality, and lighthearted pleasure. Physically, mango supports digestion, vitality, and antioxidants that help clear sluggishness from the system.

Then bergamot, the refined elder of the citrus world, steps in to bring clarity. Bright, uplifting, sophisticated, and mood-enhancing, bergamot activates the upper centers—the throat and the third eye—clearing mental fog and raising emotional frequency. It’s one of the few botanicals that can simultaneously soothe the nervous system and elevate the spirit. It brings order to the mind while lightening the heart.

And underneath both of these is the quiet intelligence of green tea—gentle caffeine, antioxidants, and an elegant steadiness that wakes you up without jarring you. Green tea supports focus, clarity, metabolism, and energetic alignment. Spiritually, it opens the subtle channels and brings us into intuitive, aware presence.

Together, these three ingredients create a blend that feels like:

  • a lift without a push

  • clarity without force

  • joy without chaos

  • creativity without overwhelm

It’s the tea you drink when you want to come alive gently… when you want your mind to brighten but not buzz… when you want to remember that life can be light, playful, and delicious.

As I sipped, I found myself smiling. Not a big dramatic grin, but that soft kind of smile that arrives when something simple feels unexpectedly perfect.

Why was I so surprised?

Well, the thing is, I don't care for mangos and so when I saw this tea, I thought, I am not going to like this and truth be told, if I hadn't challenged myself to try every tea imaginable, I would never have selected this tea ever because of the mango.

I resolved to drink it anyway, to say I had pushed past my fear of the taste and to my great surprise, I absolutely LOVED the taste of this tea and it is now one of my top 5 MOST FAVORITE teas!

Wait, what? I was stunned. What a difference a single act can make when we step past fear and what we assume something will be like, and give it a go anyway.

Day Six felt like a wink and a nudge from the universe. A reminder that a daily ritual doesn’t have to be solemn or serious to be sacred and that it's important to challenge ourselves everyday to be open to trying new things. Even when we think we know what it's going to be like, we don't aways know.

And yes—there’s a little whimsy and laughter in realizing how deeply I’ve fallen into this tea journey. Six days in and I already feel like a roving tea correspondent, an herbal time traveler, perhaps a metaphysical sommelier, on an adventure with you as I share varieties, moods, and conscious observations.

Who knew that tea could be such a delightful companion—one cup changing the entire tone of the day?

Today’s tone was lightness and letting go of what I think I know.

Green tea teaches presence.
Mango teaches joy.
Bergamot teaches clarity.
And together they whispered:

You’re allowed to feel good today. Take a chance, you just might like it!

If you’re joining me, I invite you to sip something bright today—something that brings a little color into your winter morning. Something that reminds you that even in January, there are pockets of sunshine waiting to be tasted. Seriously, this tea is like tasting sunshine.

Here’s to brightness, whimsy, and the gentle joy of discovering who we become, one cup at a time.

With warmth, presence, and deep intention,
Kala

Humanity stands at a threshold.
Everything—economics, politics, climate, culture, consciousness—is shifting at once.

This is not random. It’s the outward expression of a deeper, invisible metamorphosis:
the rearrangement of frequency on the planet.

In 2026, we are called to engage with reality in a new way— not as passive observers, but as conscious co-creators. Class begins tonight, it's not too late to join me
