Today feels like the first "real" Monday of the year. Yes, most of us returned back to work last Monday, but were we really there? As in present, awake, on task, ready to take on the world? My answer for many of us is, I don't think so, lol. We might have been present in body, but not entirely yet in mind and spirit.
So today feels like the OG Monday of the year. I awoke with all of these thoughts and feelings this morning and knew whatever tea I chose would need to be a cup of pure, unhurried gentleness.
Tuning in to see what that selection should be, I intuitively chose Bigelow Cozy Chamomile, and from the moment the tea bag hit the water, I felt my entire system say, “Oh… yes. This. Exactly this.”

Many people would go the opposite route. Hitting Monday hard with the strongest coffee they could find and pounding it hard to get their blood racing and their physical selves going. Gentle reader, I've found that this approach doesn't work for me energetically or physically for my body.
I prefer the gentle approach of chamomile, who doesn’t rush into your system with drama or dazzle. She quietly takes your hand, leads you to the softest chair in the room, and begins gently working out all the knots — physical, emotional, and energetic.
This tea is a massage therapist in a mug. You know what I mean, the moment in a massage when the lights are dim, your breath drops into your belly, and you suddenly realize how much tension you’ve been carrying in your body? Chamomile brings that moment to your attention and says it's time to breathe, release and let it go.
Chamomile is famous for its calming powers, but the type of calm it brings is deeper than simple relaxation. It's pure and simple, there are no other active ingredients in this tea, just chamomile.
It helps with:
digestive ease (bloating, indigestion, nervous stomach)
muscle relaxation
soothing the nervous system
supporting restful sleep
It’s the herb you drink when your stomach feels tight and upset, your breath is shallow, or your mind won’t agree with your assessment that it's time to go to bed.
It’s the herb that reminds your body, "You don’t have to hold everything.”
Energetically, chamomile works with:
The solar plexus (ease, empowerment, releasing tension)
The heart (softening emotional armor)
The sacral (relaxing creativity so it can flow)
As I like to teach about energy, frequency and vibration, let's discuss the properties of this sweet tea. Chamomile is the OG grandmother energy of the tea world — warm, wise, soft, and endlessly patient. She unwinds, soothes, dissolves and re-centers with her gentle touch. Her vibe is quiet confidence and bringing your emotional frequency back into balance.
As soon as I took the first sip, my shoulders lowered. Halfway through drinking the tea, my breath softened and I swear I heard chamomile hum a lullaby directly into my nervous system. It was like a little voice whispering: It's ok, everything is working as it intends to be. Your body knows the way.”
This leads me to wonder, am I becoming a psychic/telepathic herbologist? I'm known for connecting with trees and now it seems that I'm delving further into the lands of plant communication. Hmmm. this is a deeper consideration intended for another day, there's only so much I can ponder on a Monday morning, haha, so let me turn my attention back to my tea...
The warmth traveled through me, like hands smoothing tension from my abdomen and chest. My digestion eased and the internal chatter about what all needed to get done today softened from a shout to a murmur.
Chamomile doesn’t just relax you — it unwinds you from the inside out. She offers permission to slow down, soften, breathe, and simply be.
And on a chilly winter's Monday morning kind of day, that’s its own form of medicine. Taking the time to sip this tea this morning changed the entire energy/frequency/and vibration of how I would continue on through this day and most likely for the rest of this week.
Chamomile left me with this message: "Relaxation is not laziness. Easing into the day is a sacred part of the cycle.”
Today, I honored that. Tomorrow, who knows what the tea will bring.
Here’s to calm bellies, softened edges, gentle release, and the warm massage we didn’t know we needed.
With warmth, humor and deep intention, your tea-totaling sommelier,
