Kala conducts paranormal research with The Rowan Society, a private organization founded to research and explore paranormal phenomena in many of its forms. TRS responds to reports of hauntings, ancient mysteries and other paranormal related activity. The team is dedicated to exploration, investigation, research, documentation and education while upholding scientific and compassionate work in these areas.

I have been a psychic since birth as well as an empath. As a child with empathic ability, I didn't quite understand what was happening with me. I would feel the intensity of emotions around me, until I would have severe stomach aches (taking in emotions in the solar plexus chakra). Many times on holidays I would end up with an upset stomach as I would be absorbing all the energy in the home from all of the family there and the emotions that run high during holidays. Later, as I understood what I was feeling, I began to learn how not to absorb as much of the energy.

As a psychic and medium also in childhood, I thought it perfectly normal that I made a place in my bed each night for my guardian angel to have a place to sleep. I assumed everyone did and talked with my angel each night before going to sleep. The first memory of psychic predictions that I remember in childhood is about my little dog. It was bedtime for me and I became very agitated. I explained to my parents that someone was going to take our dog that night and we needed to bring him inside. My parents tried to calm me down and put me to bed. I slept fitfully all night, feeling the stranger who was going to take our dog. The next morning, as I awoke, I ran outside and the dog was gone and the gate thrown wide open. I ran crying to wake up my parents to tell them. My parents have no idea who took the dog and he was never seen again. From that point, the experiences continued to grow, from prophetic dreams at night, to waking up and realizing that my grandfather was passing away and experiencing his death before anyone else knew it had happened.

Spiritual Education
I've had the good fortune to be raised by parents and grandparents who encouraged my spiritual exploration and education. I was allowed to attend and study almost all forms of religions and their places of worship and explored this in depth, beginning in my teen years. My parents also supported my "unique abilities", it was referred to by my grandmother and mother as the "gift" and was passed down from my grandfather and generations before him. At the age of thirteen I began to study the Tarot and Astrology and was creating astrological charts the old fashioned way (before computers), along with reading tarot for friends. I also began to study the symbols in dreams and dream interpretation, as I have consistently had at least three dreams a night that I can remember and I've classified them into three categories: teaching dreams, subconscious work dreams, and dreams with others.

   
"I was born in Louisiana, and a part of my roots have remained there, however part of my education and growth has been to spread my branches wide. I have lived in Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, California, Colorado, Texas, Florida and North Carolina. I believe that living in each distinct and powerful area has enhanced my growth and understanding of people and the world, as well as allowed me the opportunity to study with teachers in many different areas. In my adult years, I began to study many forms of spirituality including eastern mysticism, esoteric teachings, earth wisdom and many others."

My Philosophy
My heart loves to journey and explore ancient wisdom. Since I was a small child, I could be found daily in the library reading and learning about the history of ancient cultures including the Babylonians, the Celts, the Druids, the Egyptians, the Sumerians, and Indigenous people and the mythologies around the world. While I loved learning everything about each culture, my passion has always been their religious practices and the wisdom given by the sages, shamans, priestesses and wise women and men.

Along my path, I came to this understanding: "Spirit does not exist in just one location; rather it is all encompassing, living within and amongst us in each moment, thought and action. I believe that Spirit is raised to it's highest level, when individuals gather with wisdom, compassion and a discerning desire to provide service to humanity". This understanding led me to begin to study and later become a teacher of the esoteric teachings, the hidden mysteries, the ancient wisdom.

As A Teacher
I believe that we are all born with a great purpose in our life. We are all unique and individual and arrived with a divine plan of what we would like to accomplish and experience while here on the earth plane. My mother always referred to me as a teacher, I would return from a long day in first grade to come home and pull out the chalkboard on our front porch and teach my younger brother and sister, along with the neighborhood children, what I had learned that day. My mother would laughingly explain to me that as a small baby, she often felt that she should be in the playpen and I should be let out to run things. There was always the sense that I was patiently waiting for my small body to grow so that I could begin what I was here to do. I used this time in childhood to study and read every book I could find in every store and library. While I didn't understand fully at the time, I was being prepared to become a teacher of the esoteric teachings. As my journey continued over time, while studying with three master teachers, I was indoctrinated into an ancient order and began my service to humanity.

From that first class that I taught, I knew that I had been a teacher before in many lifetimes and will continue to teach throughout this lifetime. While I teach on a variety of subjects, my heart is with the ancient esoteric mystery teachings which were passed down during years of study with these three teachers and these I will continue to share and teach, holding classes on these teachings to select students.

In addition to the esoteric teachings, I lecture and teach on a variety of subjects including: ancient myths, cultures, philosophies and beliefs, developing intuition, beauty and peace through traditional feng shui, wise woman wisdom, the meaning of abundance and prosperity in the universe, crystals and gemstones, sacred symbols, celebrating the seasons, soulspeak, and the wisdom in goddess teachings (the divine feminine). My insatiable thirst for knowledge of the psychic and paranormal sciences have led me to continue to study and dedicate my time not only to the teachings, but also the metaphysical arts, along with auras and chakras, dream interpretations, traditional feng shui and paranormal research. My greatest love is to teach the ancient esoteric teachings, that were passed down to me during years of study over my lifetime. In reality, it is more helping each soul to "remember" what they know inside. Currently I hold classes on these teachings to select students.

Life Accomplishments
I believe that the only way to understand life is to experience it fully. We are on this earth plane to experience, learn, grow and evolve. I have and continue to do my best to fully explore everything life has to offer and while my spirit soars on the other planes, I also believe it's important to have a firm grounding on the earth plane and to live, laugh and love here as well. This has led me to the greatest joys in life and the greatest journeys. I'm a wife and mother and I've explored many occupations that have enhanced my knowledge and well-being along the path including: working in the legal field, in public relations and marketing, event planning, interior design through traditional feng shui consultations, web design, and of course, always along the way teaching spiritual classes and workshops. Part of my effectiveness as a teacher, is that I have walked the path of many of my students, with the daily stresses and struggles that life brings to us in a variety of ways so that we may learn and grow. I've also worked as a professional psychic and am the creator of "Inspiration Bags"™.

Currently, my work is focused on the online talk show, Explore Your Spirit with Kala, (dedicated to the belief that everyone has a story to share), as a spiritual teacher of the esoteric teachings and in my spare time, I'm in the process of writing two books and working with students who want to explore their spirit at the soul level. The nine lessons that Kala presents in her book are both profound and simplistic. While these lessons can take a lifetime (or many) to master, Kala presents them in such a way as to invite the reader to look deeper into themselves and the mysteries of the Universe rather than intimidating or overwhelming them. Like the peeling of the onion that she describes, this book has many layers and levels- re-reading a lesson is like finding a brand new book with new life altering information. A must have for anyone trying to find their way.

Before reading this book, I had never read anything about mystery schools. I had briefly heard of them but this book really takes away the mystery to clearly explain mystery schools and their purpose. I really liked that the teachers at these schools ask that you not change your beliefs, just expand on them and be open to all that is taught. This book is perfect for someone who is curious about mystery schools and wants a clear, concise description of their teachings.

I was so excited to find a wonderful book detailing 9 individual lessons to help us all achieve a better life. I was familiar with Kala as a very talented interviewer and teacher, and I have long been aware of mystery schools--though not seen it recently spoken of in popular reading. Still, when I picked up "9 Life Altering Secrets" I was rather surprised by the volume of information introduced/reintroduced in this small book. For the neophyte, the path is aptly opened; for anyone 'long on the road', the new perspectives or reminders are equally beneficial. Kala's book is so packed with information that one must 'sit with' that it took me quite some time to savor. One of Kala's insights that I most enjoyed, was the perspective that we are surrounded by the energies that we put forth in our thinking. If we cultivate this surrounding field with negativity, that is what we breath in--perpetuating our negative experience of the world. "9 Life Altering Secrets" has many more gifts to offer. 9 Life Lessons by Kala Ambrose. This book explains about esoteric teachings and clarifies that the teachings are available to everyone, but especially those with an open mind and heart. There are many "pearls of wisdom" as the author mentioned, throughout the book that enlighten the reader and help to reveal the mysteries of the universe. I was very curious to find out what mystery schools were and also learned that I was a Neophyte, or a student who has just become aware that they may be more than what they previously considered themselves to be. The book is a pleasure to read, with beautiful language and a deep sense of calm and peace. A favorite quote of mine: "Some call me a teacher. I like to say I do not teach, rather I help souls remember who they are."

Author Kala Ambrose is a teacher at the Stella Maris school who uses this book to share what she calls esoteric teachings, wisdom teachings, enlightenment teachings, or mystery teachings. Her aim is "to help you remember what you already know at a soul level," information as old as humanity culled from the ancient Greeks, Sumerians and others. Two chapters I found to be extremely powerful were Lesson Two: We Are The Creation of Our Thoughts and Lesson Five: We Are Greater Than We Remember Ourselves To Be. Fascinating stuff for the neophyte or those with a background in the subject.
