According to a 2009 CBS poll, one in every five Americans report experiencing a ghostly supernatural experience in their lifetime and nearly half of all Americans believe in the existence of ghosts.
Ghosts have been seen in homes, on war torn lands and in public buildings. In my book, Ghosthunting North Carolina, I write about haunted publicly accessible buildings and sites including one of the most haunted capitol buildings in the U.S., which is located in Raleigh, NC. The ghostly sightings in the capitol grow each year and have been seen and felt by legislators, security guards, staff and visitors.
Some of the most interesting paranormal reports have come from the White House, where a variety of staff and even some President’s and their families have reported experiencing ghostly activity in the Lincoln bedroom and other rooms.
Recently House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi spoke about experiencing the spirits of Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Alice Paul surround her in a poignant moment where they expressed their delight of seeing women in political office. Pelosi describes her paranormal experience as she felt the spirits surround her while she was in a meeting with President Bush, which can be viewed here.
In my work as an intuitive, I often share messages from those in spirit world, who wish to let loved ones know that they are close and are watching over them and doing all they can to assist energetically on the other side. I’m not surprised to hear that these legendary women would return from the spirit world in order to cheer Nancy Pelosi onward and celebrate this historic moment with her. She discussed the historical importance of being the first female to hold the position of Speaker of the House in her acceptance speech –
“This is a historic moment – for the Congress, and for the women of this country. It is a moment for which we have waited more than 200 years. Never losing faith, we waited through the many years of struggle to achieve our rights. But women weren’t just waiting; women were working. Never losing faith, we worked to redeem the promise of America, that all men and women are created equal. For our daughters and granddaughters, today, we have broken the marble ceiling. For our daughters and our granddaughters, the sky is the limit, anything is possible for them”.
