I’m an avid reader, though my husband would say that avid just doesn’t do justice to describe how many books I read on a weekly basis. On a good week, I tend to read three books cover to cover. I don’t know what the average is for books read per week, so feel free to chime in here dear readers and let me know if this number sounds high, low or just right. 🙂
There are so many interesting books that I come across in my work and in my travels and only so many guests I can have on the EYS show, so on occasion, I like to share some books that have caught my eye, which may be of interest to you as well.
On my radar today is Sacred Geometry and Spiritual Symbolism by Donald Carroll and published by ARE’s 4th Dimension Press. The book explores the significance of various shapes and symbols used through history, in both religious connotations and scientific practices. Carroll explores fractals, the Star of David, the pyramids of Egypt and the correlation with our DNA.
Of particular interest to me was Chapter Nine, which begins on page 93, where Carroll explores cones and hats and how their shapes were created to harness energy from the planes above and direct it into the individual’s energy field. Those of you who have studied with me as I teach about the Aura at various centers around the U.S., including Edgar Cayce’s ARE this past March, have heard me describe how I see this cone shape in the aura around the head when a person is attempting to draw energy from the mental auric field. I also demonstrate this ability in the aura during these workshops, as we bring someone to the front of the room and ask them a complicated mathematical problem and watch the aura gather into a cone shape around the head, as the person works out the problem.
Sacred Geometry is seen in nature through the Fibonacci Sequence, including the spirals of seashells, the shapes of pine cones and pineapples and leaves unfolding on a branch. Humanity uses these geometric patterns to create masterful works of art and architecture as well as producing scientific patterns following the golden ratio. Carroll covers a variety of these symbols in the book and explains their uses by different cultures through history. He also shares what Cayce had to say on these symbols and explores what the future holds as science and spirituality attempt to work together to better understand the importance of sacred geometry.
