I’m so excited to share that my book,
Spirits of New Orleans: Voodoo Curses, Vampire Legends and Cities of the Dead
was just named by Bookish as Number One of Thirteen books to read about New Orleans, for those whose interest was piqued by the American Horror Story: Coven series!
The television show, American Horror Story: Coven, just wrapped up their series based on witches in New Orleans, with the highest ratings for show ever with over six million people watching the finale. Based on the legends of New Orleans including witchcraft, voodoo and historical figures like Marie LaVeau and Madame LaLaurie, the show built up each week on who would become the next “Supreme” leader of the witches. The finale, dubbed Witchlympics, had the girls compete against each other to prove who could master the seven wonders, magical gifts held by many witches, but only one will be able to show mastery over all seven. The popularity of the show has left viewers wanting to know more about New Orleans and the characters portrayed in the show. In my book, I share the history of Voodoo Queen Marie LaVeau and the sinister tale of Madame LaLaurie and her home of horrors.
BOOKish says about Spirits of New Orleans:
