My dear friend Paulette Salo is an angel artist. She began painting professionally and exhibiting at art shows in 1964, during which time she has owned two art galleries and exhibited her own artwork, along with other artists. Paulette travels extensively to paint murals for individuals, architects and designers. For the past four years, she has painted angels – her own interpretation of the angels of peace, love, hope, happiness, joy, compassion, protection, and healing. Paulette was intuitively led to paint angels, including personal guardian angels for people.

When Paulette and I first met three years ago, I was immediately struck by her aura, as the energy radiated with white and gold colors and I could see that she was surrounded by light beings who were working with and through her. I enjoyed speaking with her so much that I invited her to be a guest on the Explore Your Spirit show to talk about guardian angels. Paulette consults and paints angels for people as she travels around the country. She also paints angels at no charge, for children and adults in hospitals with life-threatening illnesses. She’s an incredibly talented artist who also paints wall and full room murals which are so realistic that one has to be careful not to walk right into the wall thinking they are entering another room.

Welcome to Kala’s Quick Five, where I chat with fascinating authors, artists, teachers and researchers and ask them five questions about their work. Our guest today is Sherrie Dillard, a new thought pastoral counselor, professional psychic, medium and teacher for over twenty years.

Kala: Sherrie, welcome to Kala’s Quick Five. Last time we spoke, it was on the Explore Your Spirit with Kala Show where we discussed your book, Discover Your Psychic Type. Your new book is ‘Love and Intuition: A Psychic’s Guide to Creating Lasting Love’. How does psychic ability assist in creating lasting love?

Sherrie: Lasting love springs from the soul. Soulful love is vibrant life giving vital energy that is everywhere and inherent in all things. Intuitive\psychic awareness is the ability to tune into nonphysical energy. Your intuitive\psychic ability can empower you to better embrace, understand and connect with love. How? By helping you to look within, listen to and decipher its guiding presence. It will also help you to tune into and better understand those you love and are in relationship with.

Kala: Step 7 in your book is: ‘Embrace Absolute Love’. What is the definition of absolute love?

Sherrie: Absolute love is the ‘glue of the universe’. It is pure vital divine energy, everywhere and at all time and forever unmarred by human conditioning.  Relative love on the other hand is the kind of love that we most often experience in our relationships. It is influenced by our desires, fears, limited beliefs and expectations. Intuitive\psychic awareness is the bridge between the two. It will empower you to give and receive absolute love and let you know when you are being tempted to swim in the murky water of relative love.

Kala: In Chapter 16, you discuss how to become a ‘soul mate magnet’. There’s a lot of debate currently on the soul mate issue, including whether we have one or many soul mates. How does one become a magnet for soul mates and what are your thoughts about how many soul mates we have?

Sherrie: A soul mate is another who you are connected to from the depths of your most loving and wise inner self. It is a relationship based on the divine qualities of forgiveness, kindness, trust, unconditional love and supportive of your highest good. However, a soul mate connection does not necessarily mean that your will always have an easy, unproblematic relationship. Because it is based in the soul, the ego, surface personality self will be challenged to transform.  We attract a soul mate by consciously living in the energy of our soul. Likes attract likes. The more you embody soul attributes such as, forgiveness, unconditional love, kindness, joy and selflessness, the easier it will be to attract a soul mate.  I believe that we have an unlimited number of soul mates. We are connected to all and everyone. There is an abundance of love, just ripe for the picking.

Kala: In your book, you cover the highest forms of love, including spiritual love and self-love. You also discuss love in the physical, such as in Chapter 18, ‘In the Bedroom, Sexual Intuition’. Can you share some tips with our readers on how to use intuition during love-making?

Sherrie: Carl Jung, the famed psychologist, once said that everyone who came to see him with a “sexual” issue had in fact a “spiritual” issue and everyone who came to see him for a “spiritual” issue had a “sexual” issue. Sexuality and spirituality are highly charged, sensual energies that are forever intertwined. Your intuition is the perfect compliment to sexuality. It will help you to tune into your partner’s nonverbal needs and desires and challenge you to open to new levels of intimacy and trust. Intuition is more that just accessing information, it is the gateway for soul connected oneness that transcends physical boundaries. Pretty exciting, stuff!

Kala: ‘Love and Intuition’ invites us to ‘love like angels’ and mentions that our ‘spirit guides are a constant source of positive energy’. How can angels and spirit guides assist us in finding love?

Sherrie: Conscious relationships are an accelerated path for personal growth and spiritual awareness. But let’s face it, they are not easy. In many ways relationships dredge up our deepest fears, insecurities and self centeredness. They demand we evolve, grow and change.  Your angels and spirit guides are here to help. They are wise and loving beings who are ever ready to assist you in letting go of your pain, releasing old patterns of behavior and filling you with absolute love. All they need is just a simple request of help. They can inspire and support you and influence your relationships and external conditions. That little surge of sparkly love and pull toward another might very well be a sign from your angels. Their help is practical and will surprise you.

Welcome to ‘The Quick Five’, where I chat with fascinating authors, artists, teachers and researchers and ask them five questions about their work. My guest today is Laila del Monte, an author and acclaimed flamenco dancer with a master’s degree in the history of religion from Sorbonne. Laila teaches animal communication in the U.S. and Europe, (living in both Los Angeles and Paris) with her specialty being “problem horses” and sick and injured animals.

Kala: Hi Laila, welcome to the ‘Quick Five’. You’ve written a book entitled – Psychic Communication with Animals for Health and Healing. When did you first realize that you could psychically communicate with animals?

Laila: Hello, Kala. I’m very pleased to speak with you. When I was a child on the island of Formentera, Spain, it was “normal” to me. It’s only when I went to French school that I realized I was a bit different.

Kala: Your specialty is working with horses and sick and injured animals? What draws you to work with horses?

Laila: It’s impossible to put into words. I’ve felt an affinity with them forever. I absolutely love healing horses! Nevertheless I love all animals and all sick animals are the same to me. There is no difference if it’s a million dollar competition horse or a poor donkey in a field. If he suffers and we can help, we will. It’s an honor for me to help them.

Kala: In your book you mention that the unconditional loving nature of animals often leads them to take on physical pains and negative emotional experiences of the humans in their lives. Can you explain to our readers how the animal is affected by taking on this energy?

Laila: Yes. I don’t think it’s done on a conscious level. I wouldn’t be able to explain how it’s done but they take on either physically or in their behavior issues that we have. Nevertheless we shouldn’t feel guilty as we all have “stuff’ and the infinite love that is their nature, chooses to do so. We can’t become flawless all of a sudden. I think we’re here(on earth) to experiment and live.

Kala: What advice would you give to animal lovers who wish to communicate with their animals? Are there different techniques depending upon the type of animal? For example, would communication skills differ from a cat, versus a dog or horse?

Laila: No, communication is the same for all species. It’s different for domesticated and wild animals though. Domesticated animals are very close to us and therefore take on more human traits. With wild animals, one has to be even more respectful of their nature and not burden them with our thoughts and emotions. They are interested in their own lives and survival, not really in us humans.

Kala: You reside in both Paris and Los Angeles. Have you noticed differences in the animals living in the U.S. versus the ones in Europe? Do the animals take on the cultural differences and are they affected by the energy of the country as well as by living in large cities like L.A and Paris, versus the countryside?

Laila: Hello, animals are the same everywhere. I have not noticed cultural differences except in French poodles (he he) No, that’s a joke. What affects them is the people they live with. Yes, of course, an animal living in a city and stuck in an apartment is very different than an animal living in the countryside. The one in nature has more chances to release stress and emotions taken on by his guardians.

Who Are They?

All children have the natural intelligence of intuition (II). Some children are highly skilled or gifted in this talent in the same way that others have a talent for math, music, languages or physical dexterity.

Since each of us has a preference in how we relate to the world, the book, Raising Intuitive Children, shows how children with an intuitive learning style and intuitive intelligence view and interact with people, tasks and the environment.

Children with intuitive intelligence have traits that manifest in different ways along a continuum of normal skills to gifted talents:

•    Children who learn through feelings and process information kinesthetically. (Intuitive learning mode)
•    Children who are creative and artistic and intuition drives their motivation. (Artistic drive for exploring and creating, entrepreneurial)
•    Children whose intuitive intelligence is like a radar reading other people and understanding them. (Empathy and interpersonal skills)
•    Children who have intuitive episodes like dreams or a flash of creative insight. (Deep insight, precognition)
•    Children who are psychic. (Awareness of non-physical worlds through all senses or a specific sense.)
Intuition is the common denominator of these talents, and all children have the same intuitive capacities. Like musical prodigies and math geniuses, children display their intuitive talents differently. Some educators call the intutive kids the right-brainers! (Better than no-brainers, I guess)

II is the new kid on the block
Education, parenting and psychology professionals recognize that children have multiple intelligences, and intuitive intelligence is the new kid on the block. All intelligences exist on a continuum of normal to gifted. There are math prodigies, musical geniuses and intuitive psychics. The traits for intuitive intelligence cluster into several groups:

•    Creative and inspired artists,
•    Sensitive and empathic feelers, and
•    Talents involving inner psychic awareness,
•    Spiritual intuitives
Intuitive intelligence stands as an entity deserving recognition. Brain mapping using EEG topography found that creativity and intuition are associated with theta waves usually linked with daydreaming or fantasizing. Theta waves are calm states in which intellectual activity at the conscious level isn’t occurring. Children and adults with ADHD produce excessive theta waves.

Our logical mind addresses stable patterns, snapshots of reality stored in our memory banks, for the practical living. The holistic or holographic side of our reality, intuitive intelligence comes from within. By focusing our attention on how intuition presents, we act from deeper understanding.

Intuitive intelligence operates on gestalts or whole pieces of information and functions from our memory, not logic. Intuitive ability is finally recognized as the fuel behind innovation, creative thinking, inspiration, insight, and psychic experiences.

Intuition is an essential part of the human mind, which includes our conscious processes and unconscious processes—thought perception, emotion, will, memory, and imagination. Intuition involves nurturing self-awareness of the inner world, the outer world, and the connection in between

Connection is the key!
There is much we can do as parents to direct expressions of inventive and creative thoughts, help empaths deal with emotional overwhelm and establish resilience, face fears of ghosts. Children with intuitive intelligence, challenged by cultural systems which do not know how to connect with or teach them, need permission to follow their personal path and optimize their talent. We can give that permission and model it for them by developing our intuitive parenting. We also need to become intuitive parents.

Our truest parenting success is the feeling of resonance with our child, the connection of hearts, the meeting of minds—congruence.

Much of what you see all around you is a physical manifestation or creation of your internal thought processes and the vibes of those who share your space. If what you see around you gives you a feeling of anger, depression, or resentment, use those feelings as your guide to make changes for the better. By using the tools in our books and tools along with the power of intention, you can begin to change what you are experiencing.

If you want to achieve something, you must clear out the maybes and cant’s from your stated goal. You cannot allow yourself the luxury of a negative thought, because those doubts will become an intention to manifest what you don’t want. When you strive to be clear and confident with your intention, your goal will manifest much more easily. But when you are conflicted in your thoughts, you will manifest obstacles. What we focus on in our mind’s eye is ultimately reflected back to us in our experience of reality.

Whenever you want to set a new goal for yourself, start by setting your intention with a clear affirmation and visualization. Take the time to become clear about what you want, but then simply declare it. Say to the universe, “Here is my goal. Make it so.” Do not think you can tell the universe exactly how and when your goal will be achieved; you cannot.

We all use affirmations every day, both positive, like “I can do that,” and negative, like “I cannot do that because I’m too weak, dumb, fat, skinny, poor, and so forth,” or any of the hundreds of other reasons we come up with for why we aren’t living the life we want and deserve. Ever since we first started living together, we have found that setting aside a time each morning for repeating positive affirmations helps to undo the effects of negative affirmations and helps us to become aware when we are lapsing into using them. As the philosopher G.I. Gurdijeff said, “When falling asleep wakes you up, you know you are making progress.”

Intend that your goal manifest in a manner that is for your highest good and greatest joy. This is very important, as intentions that are created out of desperation, fear of failure, or ego issues will backfire. You may get what you want, but it will disappoint. Alternatively, you may get the exact opposite of what you want. But intentions that are genuinely made for your highest good and greatest joy tend to manifest in a positive way.

Whether you have been looking for your soul mate, respect, contentment, romance, fun, financial security, a job you love, self-esteem, and the best life possible for you, affirmations and visualizations can be an important part of your campaign to achieve your goals. If done regularly and with sincerity, you may soon be surprised at the changes you see starting to occur in your life. It is important that you be kind to yourself as well as to others.

As you become more self-aware from your affirmations and meditations you will naturally be more conscious of that which may hold you in disharmony, and that which empowers you. Know that you can only work on yourself, and cannot force another person to heal or to change.
