In Fall 2011, Kala was asked by the Learning Annex to write her psychic predictions in regards to her work as a Business Intuitive.

Intrigued, she wrote over 11 pages of predictions regarding the future of business and new business trends not just for 2012, but the decade beyond.

She covers a tremendous amount of detail on what is to come for the world in regards to business and the econony.

“In this new decade, we are moving into a new Age of Enlightenment. The Aquarian information from the gods can no longer be contained, the Divine Feminine is being released in all her glory and we will once again see a Renaissance period, where great art, architecture, philosophy, literature and science will develop and flourish. Housing and Commercial Real Estate Market

A housing readjustment is needed and interest rates will go up. New technology in housing will bring a resurgence in the market, as developers turn their attention to renovating and rebuilding trendy downtown areas with new features that attract buyers including tax breaks to buy new homes and condos. These include environmental attractions such as solar panels, urban gardens and rooftop gardens, as well as interior features such as moveable walls, in loft style apartments that allow people to expand and contract their living space as needed. Imagine moving walls to open up the space for a party and moving them back later to create a guest room when needed. Transportation will play a major role in this economic development, as more cities get on board with public transportation and less cars crowding the streets.Another opportunity will be for some of the commercial office parks which are now empty, to be turned into housing for a specific type of community, such as senior housing. Many of these commercial buildings have excellent parking and cafeterias built into the buildings, along with large conference rooms, all of which are feasible to turn into senior centers.

Federal and state governments may also offer tax breaks to the corporations who sell these centers at a substantial discount to private schools who wish to turn them into educational centers as they already have labs in place and are set for technology for a new 21st century style teaching.

One of the perks for technology corporations to do this is that the school includes the company name as part of the naming of the school and this company may provide computers and guest teachers and tutors to train students in technology. Others may be medical based and teach science and medicine or offer the arts, humanities, and business.

Corporations become sponsors of these new schools, and are able to hire the best and brightest from these schools, which eliminate the need for college for some of these students, being hired directly from this highly evolved and focused private high school with many courses being at the collegiate level.

Many students and parents will praise this idea as a highly effective way to allow students to learn what interests them the most and get a jumpstart on creating what they love as a career.

Education and Employment Integrations

Some corporation’s jump on this school sponsored bandwagon with an integrated version of donating part of their commercial space for a private school, while keeping the other buildings in their complex strictly for employees. Students will be invited to participate at times with the company in projects. Integration and real world training is key for the 21st century in order to engage new generations into how business is moving and transforming so quickly.

With the rising costs of college, along with heavy student loan debt, entrepreneurship will become a leading trend over going to college for many. Colleges will continue to be useful to educate doctors, lawyers, and other specific schools of this need, but many will find they can train in specialized private schools like this and jump off from this into the career of their choosing. The future will focus on how creative and adaptive people are in their line of work, while recognizing that on the job training is highly effective. Universities will become more specialized as well, focusing on medicine, law or other types of specialized training.

Libraries evolve into expert centers, where the librarians themselves are engaging with the public to help them with information they are seeking. Libraries become the new lecture centers, bringing in authors to talk about their work, and video taping these segments to show online. As they evolve into expert centers, they grow into a speaker’s bureau and their online presence grows. They also share these videos with other libraries around the world. This leads to one of the largest expansions of libraries as information sources with expert appeal. It becomes en vogue to speak at the library and be filmed as an expert in your field and librarians work with schools and community resources to recommend speakers and experts for events, receiving a fee for doing so by the speakers. College libraries follow suit, offering video interviews and lectures from their professors including videos of labs, in the field research and panel debates, offering more exposure to each professor’s and department’s work. This expands into public school libraries allowing teachers to explain on video their curriculum for the year, what they are teaching as well as tutorials for large projects assigned, so that parents can watch these videos online and understand what is expected of their children in each class each year and have advanced knowledge of the projects and due dates. Tutorials on courses are also offered online through the school libraries. This eliminates the confusion between children relating assignments to parents or limited paperwork that often doesn’t make its way home.

To save money and expand, libraries also join forces with museums, sharing commercial space and becoming living museums and learning centers through their combined efforts.

Automobiles

Cars will evolve to include more personalized order. Rather than seeing giant car lots in the future with rolled off the factory generic cars, consumers will be able to order more customization and hand pick what they want and don’t want in their cars. As iPad’s and other devices of this nature advance, cars will come with designated areas that hold devices of this nature, which allow the consumer to use their iPad for navigation, radio, TV and DVD showings, eliminating the need for these screens, as well as GPS and other devices in the cars. The iPad attaches into the car and is able to be removed by the consumer taking it with them throughout their day, so that all their personal interests stay with them.A new automobile feature will emerge which allows customers to customize the paint on their car, so they can order a customized car with their company’s logo, their favorite sports team, or other brands of your choice. Think of it as branding tattoo’s for the car. Interior options for seating with sport logos and other brands will also be offered.

The key to innovation in this business and others will be all about quality and giving people specific items that they desire.

Stock Market

If she wants it, this is Hillary Clinton’s election to win in 2012. She’d have to look past running against an incumbent president, but he’s ready to step down and let it happen. 2012 is her year to win.

2012-2014 present two more years of unstable market periods, which are needed to make necessary changes and adjust the market from the enormous waves of instability. 2015 is a rebuilding year and 2016 brings new growth.

The Future of Healthcare

New healthcare options are available including video appointments with your doctor via a WEB MD Skype-like channel that is set up between doctor offices and your insurance, so that you can pay your deductible online, insurance is taken care of and you have a private consultation with your doctor online via video.This skyrockets, with new technology, including plug in machines going through your computer that check your blood pressure, heart rate and blood sugar with real time reports going directly to your doctor during your video appointment with him. New technology expands with pulse oxidation and other procedures. Nurse practitioners are also available for follow up meetings, and checkups. Parents find this very helpful with sick children, rather than having to bring them to the office, though of course, many times, this initial meeting will lead to the patient being scheduled to come into the office if the doctor needs a more detailed exam of the patient.

In addition, this allows you to meet with other doctors and specialists covered in your insurance plan that work in other states. Instead of traveling, if you want a second opinion by a specialist in New York, while you are living in Arizona, you can arrange a video appointment online with this specialist for a second opinion and have a meeting with them to confer about treatments. Medical billing is all done via computer online and set up as well with long term payment options when needed.

One of the groups to jump on this market will be plastic surgeons who set up “lay-a-way” type accounts, where patients can create a savings account and pay into this account before having an elective plastic surgery.

Another feature will be that when you set up your account, you will be able to select the pharmacy of your choice and when you doctor prescribes a medication for you, he will be able to do this online while meeting with you and online order the prescription for you at the pharmacy of your choice. Since this prescription is typed in, there is less chance of error by pharmacists attempting to read poor handwriting by doctors. You are also able to have a record of your prescription, how long you have been on medications and will receive online notices when a prescription needs to be refilled.

Doctors making house calls will also become popular, where they follow up visiting patients with long term care and disabilities and for patients who are ill with flu and other conditions making it hard for them to get out of bed.

Doctors will work with companies who can come in and assess the house for the best in home health care and treatment such as for long-term illness and even better designs in the home for those who suffer with asthma and allergies. Some doctors will choose to have smaller offices, choosing instead to rent space inside or near hospitals and bounce between their small office and making house calls.

In home personalized services are on the rise, from private yoga instruction to chefs who come in and cook meals for a week and refrigerate them, to doctors making house calls and therapeutic services like massage. Drug manufacturers will ask to advertise on these online programs, offering coupons for products also available in the pharmacy.

Careers that Must Adapt

to Thrive

General Life Coaches fall out of favor; instead Experts in their particular field of expertise are hired to give advice and coach. Much like you go to a specialist for a medical procedure, you work with an Expert Coach in the particular field that you are interested in pursuing. The Coach has years of experience and education in their field and can also be hired to come on board and work for the company as a contracted consultant for a period of time. This leads to new career paths where executives who were pushed out of corporations in early retirement, can continue to work in the fields they love and share their years of experience.Contractors need to think outside the box to start drumming up business during this construction slump. Out of work construction and home renovation companies need to become more innovative. Collaborative efforts will benefit both companies and customers such as approaching subdivisions, which have councils that send out newsletters to everyone in the subdivision, introducing the contractors to a new market. Contractors who offer a discount to a subdivision where three or more neighbors book the work at the same time can be very beneficial. If for example a contractor builds screen porches, they can offer a subdivision wide discount where if homeowners purchase this project during this three-month period, they will receive a substantial discount. Book all the jobs in this subdivision and keep your crew in this one area working for an entire quarter.

This way when one job slows down due to the need for an inspection or parts that didn’t arrive, crews can quickly move to another house in the same subdivision and begin work on a tear down or framing and move back to the other house when parts and supplies arrive.

Along with cutting down travel costs and drive time for crews, it allows for multiple deliveries to arrive at one subdivision, for multiple houses. In addition, the community enjoys watching the progress on each house and comparing notes on the various designs. If they like your work, they’re guaranteed to recommend you to other subdivisions and you can book out each quarter ahead of time. This also works for roofers, porches, additions, and inside work, tiling, windows, hardwood floors, the possibilities continue and also work well for landscapers and interior designers.Speaking of landscapers, a new trend will be a “make over my yard on a budget”, where you offer one stop shopping and pricing to make over a yard. Also make over my house for a party will be popular, where a crew arrives to decorate the front yard for Halloween parties, with bales of hay, scarecrow, pumpkins, mums, characters and decorations.

The future of Business and Restoring the Economy

The answer is three-fold; Adaptability, Collaboration and Appreciation of Employees and the Ever-Shifting Markets. As I predicted last year, employees are quitting their jobs in record numbers, despite the tough economy and outlook on the job front. Driven to a point of exasperation and extreme job dis-satisfaction, workers are leaving to start their own businesses or work for less money in a career where they feel appreciated. Corporations will continue to see the brain and talent drain from their offices until they realize that the age of demoralizing and taking talented employees for granted is over. Those who attract the best and brightest will need to offer strong incentives and benefits like a retirement package along with rewards for long term service and company loyalty.

Future trends in business include an expansion of the customization of products to personalize them for the individual tastes of the consumer. Being an expert is in and random sales clerks are who are not experts in the products they sell are out. It’s not time to train more factory workers, it’s time to innovate to new technology in order to grow business and train people to become experts in the fields they enjoy and are passionate about.

More companies will allow for more telecommuting on at least a part time basis. Cubicles and in some cases, entire offices will go away as companies look for more efficient ways to work using less commercial office space.

As we continue the global expansion of being available 24-7, working flex time hours and shifts will become a popular option. This also creates new jobs, as companies need staff available around the clock, so second shift hiring brings in new jobs.

Flex hours are not only about shifts, but the number of days working as well. The employers who are most popular will offer shifts including working four day work weeks with ten to eleven hour shifts, giving employees three day weekends, while opening up jobs for part time workers to work three day work weeks on a Fri/Sat/Sun schedule. This allows younger generations four days a week to attend college or pursue other interests and also allows baby boomers who wish to work part time the ability to do so while having other days available to them to travel and enjoy their lives.To be competitive, American companies will need to honor their employees and understand that work is supposed to be part of their lives, not all of it. Smart companies will offer flex time and more vacation time like their European counterparts. They will recognize that work will also need to have meaning and depth to their employees and drone working is no longer viable. People must feel connected to the products they build and the services they provide. They want to take pride in their work and what they have made. Creative input is also important to recognize and reward with compensation. When employees have creative outlets and the ability to daydream and think about ideas, companies will benefit from these concepts as well as retain workers. When employees are again viewed as the most important assets in the company, business will soar.

As Henry Ford said, “Wealth, like happiness, is never attained when sought after directly. It comes as a by-product of providing a useful service.”

The Future of Online Business and Shopping versus Big Box Retail Stores

People are looking for experiences. When you can have everything almost instantly at a discounted price, the value comes in the experience and the credibility.Many of those old establishment department/anchor stores in the malls that your parents and in some cases grandparents shopped at, are on their way out. A few are trying some last ditch efforts to attract the younger crowds with celebrity endorsements, but it’s too little too late. Many of these stores will soon go the way of other old timers like Montgomery Ward, who remembers them now? Niche stores are the wave of the future, as well as expert stores like the Apple Genius brand, rather than vague random stores full of too many counter-intuitive products.

Apps continue to explode in growth including retail. One that I expect to see soon, is where I can walk down the street and snap a photo of someone’s shoes as they walk by and the app will search this photo, tell me who designed these shoes and then locate the ten closest retailers who sell the shoes and give me a price comparison. The app would list the bricks and mortar retail stores, in case I want the shoes on my feet in an impulse buy in the next ten minutes, and it would also offer online shopping store versions in case I am willing to wait and order online for a better price.

Another app will be the Yard Sale app, where you can find local yard sales using GPS directions to get there and even see photos of some items ahead of time that you are interested in. You can rank the yard sales by importance and plan your trip out according to the most efficient drive time and by selecting the priority of items you are looking for.

The best option for bookstores to continue in business is to adapt, collaborate and appreciate. Collaboration must come quickly by realizing that the age of the bookstore as a single source has passed. To be interesting in their local area, they must become a hub of activity with a plethora of local events to attract people into the store. The print books themselves become a secondary marketing item (think going to a musical event and then buying the CD or tee shirt to take home from the event). Adaption comes into play as stores move in the future to offering a print-on-demand service in the store where books can be ordered and printed out instantly. Appreciation extends to authors and readers, offering special services to frequent customers and inviting more authors to participate in the stores events, as they bring their fan base to grow with them.

Some events may include large screens in the stores where authors Skype in regardless of where they are, to speak and interact with fans in the store.

Online shopping is only going to get bigger. One of the biggest fan markets for New Orleans Jazz is in Japan. Imagine as these fans, who are half a world away, are able to watch videos and chat online in real time with jazz artists, sales of online products will soar. Savvy musicians and other artists will learn to offer live webinars and other live offerings via the net, including private concerts to people who pay and register in advance. Just like in concert halls, they will perform to fans around the world via this online presence, to those who aren’t in the local area or live in one of the cities designated for a concert. This new experience is unique and personalized.Live chats and “ask the author/musician/artist a question” will become the new trend as well. Book signings won’t go away, in the future, you can order a custom ordered book by your favorite author, where you pick from a choice of your favorite cover and the author customizes a personalized dedication to you, along with their signature, which is all printed digitally and watermarked to ensure the value of the book. Books also expand with digital downloads that come with each book purchase, sometimes with tickets to private online events with the author and digital downloads to private concerts and giveaways, only to those who purchase the book, which each one is printed with a custom id to enter to win. Think of those random generated numbers when you are signing up for an email list, the computer will randomly generate a code on each book printed, so there’s no chance of guessing it without purchasing the item first.

Online shopping will more than double in the next decade. To keep up with supply and demand, UPS stores will create local stores with delivery boxes assigned to customers, similar to how people use P.O. Boxes, except these will be larger to accommodate packages. This will fill a big need for as online shopping and shipping increases, crime will quickly follow this trend and home delivery thefts will be on the rise. Due to people’s work schedules, they are often not home when packages are delivered and this need will rise.

Enterprising companies will soon see that while shipping/pick up centers may work in the cities, they will not work for suburban families and their needs.

We’ll soon see the prototypes for a new style of mailbox in neighborhoods, where mail is dropped in a slot in the box outside the home when delivered and a digital pass code can be entered by UPS and other delivery companies to place box deliveries inside this large mail/shipment box. Consumers give their password when ordering a package online and this password is included when processing shipping orders to UPS and other companies.

The Secret to a Successful Bricks and Mortar Retail Store

The successful stores will stop complaining about the online stores taking business away from them and instead become innovative and competitive again by offering to consumers what online stores can not, which are – Retail Therapy through Impulse Buying and Expert One-Stop Shopping Experiences. Here are some examples.You’ve heard of Man Caves, now be on the look out for the “Man Store”. Like Abercrombie’s “models” in their stores, the next evolution will be a man store, where men are outfitted with everything they need in one stop shopping. This will be offered in a variety of ways. Think of a sports store, where the man walks in and says… I want to go fly-fishing. An expert fly fisher guide is assigned as the person to help this man and he takes him through the store, equipping him with the rod and reel he needs, along with the appropriate vest, wading boots, hat, net and other equipment. He recommends a guide book to be purchased, and can also interact with travel services with approved and selected fly fishing locations which can include hotel and air travel if needed. This continues on and on, with “I want to go to Pro Sports Game”, and the guide arranges tickets, sports memorabilia clothing and other gear, along with any type of sports or outdoor activities. The man is loaded up with the gear, equipment, clothing, reservations and other items needed.

Similar stores follow suit, with Man Stores or specialized Man Departments within the store with experts Concierge’s assigned to help them, including: I just got a corporate job and need appropriate clothing, or I need to wow a girl on a date and need the right outfit, a gift, and reservations to a restaurant or theater.

In smaller cities and towns where guides are not available in the store, an online app version is offered where you interact with the guide online through live video.

This trend continues with men, who want choices and personalization as much as women. Expect to see more personalized stores, including specialized party foods, snacks and beers.

As this takes off, women follow suit, bringing back old department store techniques that used to bond women to a certain store and keep them there all day. These stores will offer services that once existed in upscale department stores including a place to dine inside the store along with spa services, including makeovers with assigned expert concierges. The woman comes in and says “I have a date and need to get ready” and spends the day at the store, having her hair done, nails done, skin care and makeup applied, and then the expert concierge finds her the perfect outfit and accessories including shoes, jewelry and purse. This concept extends to bridal parties and corporate job makeovers.

Each purchase at the store is logged into a program customized for the store, listing what the customer had done with her hair, including what products were selected, who the stylist was, and what nail polish, clothing, and makeup was used.

This is emailed to the customer so that she can continue to purchase the shade of lipstick that she loves or return to a favorite stylist at the store and of course, book the expert concierge for a return visit.Girlfriend parties and mother and daughter outings are also scheduled for women to shop together each with their expert concierge shopping with them in the store. Themes include: I just got invited to a wedding; I’m going on a cruise or vacation, and similar types of events.

Technology is used further in these events. Computers scan the face of the woman and integrate what hairstyles would be the most complimentary along with selecting the best shades of hair color and cosmetics. Formulas via the computer are mixed like paint is mixed in home renovations stores, to create the perfect formula of hair color for the person. This is also used in the makeup counters, to create the perfect blend of foundation for the person. These custom blends are recorded so that the person can retrieve this code and reorder this perfect blend over and over.

Stores that offer these services will begin to leave the malls, choosing instead to be a destination onto their own, holding shoppers captivated as they receive makeovers from head to toe along with dining with friends and family all in house. The retail costs for the stores is lower than in the malls and revenues go up as shoppers remain in their store and don’t drift out to other markets.Other stores catch on to this idea and offer experts in their stores, one can walk into a craft store for example and say, I want to build model airplanes or I want to learn to quilt and experts are assigned to them who guide them on what they need to purchase and information they need to accomplish this task.

Expert status also leads into other ventures. Restaurants innovate to allow nutritionists and chefs the ability to work together to create new menus, which explain in greater detail why foods are healthy choices and what nutrition they are providing. This creates a new food guide, where you are able to choose wisely and be better informed on your choices. A guide is created with colors and symbols showing which food groups are involved in each meal and at what level.

Blended bartering comes back into vogue in local restaurants. Local grown products by farmers are offered to restaurants in return for farmers and their families eating the finished products at the restaurant. Blended advertising is also shared, with the restaurant promoting the local farms and their products available for sale at the farmer’s market and the farmers at the farmers market advertise to their customers that they can eat their products in complete meals at the restaurants they partner with. The customer appreciates the “from the farm to the table” collaboration experience and gains trust for both parties.

Many restaurant franchises fold in this coming decade. They were too cookie-cutter and ran their employees like cattle. Their desire to streamline took all the quality out of the experience and the employees are not connected to the company due to low wages and mistreatment.

Local businesses and restaurants will be on the rise along with larger companies that allow employees to work their way up the chain and see a long-term career with a company offering the ability to grow.

The Future of Furniture and Design

North Carolina has been one of the nation’s leading furniture makers and has the ability to evolve again and design the future. Engineers and designers will work together in teams, leading the way will be the interaction with technology in furniture. Furniture will expand again in its multi-functional capacities and most tables and chairs will be on wheels that pop out and tuck inside table legs when desired. Tables will fold in and expand out on themselves, going from coffee table size to dining room table expansion, along with desks, which take on double duty from side tables to full size working desks to fit in guest room and offices.Lighting will also become more versatile, using remotes for color choices and dimming and will include cables that allow consumers to raise and lower lights from the ceiling, helping with those chandeliers that are impossible to clean up high in an entry area. Mood lighting with LED colors will soon be the hot trend, similar to how neon was in the 1980s.

Television and Media

Television is next to make a change. Reality TV as we know it, is soon over and people are tired of overpaying for high priced cable to have nothing but more of the same on hundreds of channels. More and more people will migrate to the web to watch shows and Internet based TV shows will become the new trend, made just for the net, not seen on TV. Advertising is also completely shifting, rather than blatant commercials that can be fast forwarded through on TIVO and DVR’s, product placement will become king adopted first on Internet TV, which then pushes broadcast TV to follow suit. We’ll see product placement in the sets with furniture and decor, along with the clothing worn by the stars on the programs, the stores they shop at, the places they eat, the cars they drive and the entertainment venues they visit.Speaking of TV’s, the next trend will be to make the TV screen operate like an iPad with a touch screen. Like the app that I want to photograph shoes and find where to buy them, consumers will be able to watch a TV show and see a product that interests them and touch the object which gives the name of the product. This will appear first on Internet TV, where we’ll see advertisers jump on this product placement market. When you touch the product on the screen, it will open onto a new browser window where you can purchase the product. Talk about instant ratings and results for advertising!

Kala’s Predictions on:
High Tech Fashion Meets Health Care

Remember mood rings in the 1970’s and those shirts that changed colors with body heat in the 1980s? New technology will bring clothing that will not only change colors like this before, but this with more helpful statistics and information. Clothing will change colors for athletes to warn them and their coaches that they are overheating and need to cool down. Technology will be able to read other medical problems as well and help alert the person to this situation before it occurs and hopefully can be stopped.Another area where we’ll see this occur is in children’s wear, with diapers that change color to alert the parent to wetness and small chips in clothing that alert parents to babies running a temperature, some through color and others with a chip inside the clothing that shows the body temperature on the pajama top that the baby is wearing. Technology will also increase in removing body odors from clothing.

New breakthroughs in autism will be found by researchers by using music to communicate with autistic children. Apps with music reward children by playing their favorite songs when they successfully accomplish a task. Tonal sounds also guide them when they are closer to their goals or moving further away. This spins off another technological innovation, in which blind people are helped with an app that reads distance to buildings, curbs and other locations and alerts the blind person through tonal sounds warning them when they are too close to something. This is then a feature added into GPS services as GPS technology advances so that when blind people wish to go walking, they can follow verbal GPS instructions, while also be alerted to hazards like buildings, water, trees, streets and oncoming cars and joggers.

A product that has needed renovating for a while is the toilet. In the future, we will see them become more high tech. They will be able to analyze the urine to detect pregnancy and other medical conditions, which can be detected through urine. Bidets will also be built into toilets, returning back to this sanitary practice, rather than the current overuse of bleached toilet paper.

End of the World Not So Quick says author John Michael Greer

Welcome to Kala’s Quick Five, where I chat with fascinating authors, artists, teachers, and researchers and ask them five questions about their work. My guest today is John Michael Greer, who has been a guest on the Explore Your Spirit with Kala show many times to discuss his work and his books. John Michael Greer is the Grand Archdruid of the Ancient Order of Druids in America and the author of more than twenty books on a wide range of subjects, including The Long Descent: A User’s Guide to the End of the Industrial Age, The Ecotechnic Future: Exploring a Post-Peak World, and The Wealth of Nature: Economics As If Survival Mattered. He lives in Cumberland, MD, an old red brick mill town in the north central Appalachians, with his wife Sara. The topic of our discussion today is his book, Apocalypse Not: Everything You Know about 2012, Nostradamus and the Rapture is Wrong.

Kala: Hi John, pleasure to speak with you again. I’ve always been confused by the people who seem to “wish” for an apocalypse on earth, an ending to this beautiful planet. What do you think is the fascination with the yearning for the end times?

JMG: The key to understanding the apocalypse meme–the set of ideas and emotional drives that cluster around the idea of a sudden stop to history — is to notice what supposedly follows the end. It’s never just an end without a sequel, and the sequel always bears a very close resemblance to whatever the fondest daydreams of the believers happen to be. After everybody else dies — and of course it’s always everybody else who dies–the believers get whatever kind of world they think they want. That’s the bait of the apocalypse meme: history stops, the world we know with all its imperfections and irritations goes away, and then — at least in theory — you get whatever kind of world you most desire. Of course it never actually works that way, but that’s the theory.

Kala: Millions of people quote Nostradamus and apply his predictions to events after they occur. What did you find in your research regarding the accuracy of Nostradamus?

JMG: That he isn’t necessarily your most reliable guide to the future. “In the year 1999 and seven months, from the sky will come a great king of terror to resuscitate the great king of Angouleme; before and after Mars reigns at his will.” That quatrain was much quoted in the runup to 1999, when people took time off from fretting about the Y2K noncrisis. Do you remember a great king of terror that year? Neither do I.

Kala: 2012 is a few months away and for many people, a countdown begins for them regarding an “end date prophecy” on December 21, 2012. What are you feelings about this date and is there any proof or correlation with the Mayan culture?

JMG: The Mayan calendar has many different cycles. One of them rolls over on that date, but there’s only one brief reference to the date anywhere in the ancient Mayan inscriptions, it says nothing about an apocalypse, and there are dates in the Mayan inscriptions predicting events many thousands of years into the future after it. The notion that the some kind of end time scenario would happen then was invented out of whole cloth by the late Jose Arguelles, with some help from 60s psychedelic guru Terence McKenna, and it’s frankly about as believable as Harold Camping’s Rapture predictions. That won’t keep hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of people from expecting the end on that date, or from suffering the usual disappointments afterwards.

Kala: Others discuss the correlation between UFO sightings and the end times prophecies. What are your thoughts about the increased reports of UFO sightings, are they related in any capacity?

JMG: The open secret of UFOs, as I discuss in my book The UFO Phenomenon, is that the phenomenon was largely created and is still managed by the Air Force as protective camouflage for whatever the current secret aerospace technology happens to be. In 1947 it was high altitude balloons, in the 1950s it was the U-2, in the 1960s it was the SR-71 and early spy satellites, and so on. Do you remember how in the Eighties, black triangle UFOs were all over the place? That was when stealth planes were first being tested. If UFO sightings are on the increase, it’s a safe bet that in ten or fifteen years, we’ll find out that the Air Force was testing some new technology right about now. It’s interesting, but it’s not especially relevant to end times claims.

Kala: In your opinion, will humanity always look for an “end time escape plan” or are we evolving into the understanding that the “revelation” must come from within as we evolve and grow as spiritual beings?

JMG: I certainly hope we outgrow the apocalypse meme. We’ve been through more than three thousand years of end times that weren’t, and all it’s done is distract us from the hard and rewarding work of facing up to the challenges and possibilities of life as it faces us right here and now.

How accurate are the prophecies of Nostradamus?

Welcome to Kala’s Quick Five, where I chat with fascinating authors, artists, teachers and researchers and ask them five questions about their work. My guest today is Peter Lemesurier, a former Cambridge linguist and professional translator whose work has been included in programs including: the Discovery Channel, the History Channel, and the National Geographic Channel. Lemesurier is the author of ten books on Nostradamus, including The Unknown Nostradamus, Nostradamus: The Illustrated Prophecies and the topic of our discussion here, Nostradamus, Bibliomancer — The Man, The Myth, The Truth.

Kala: Peter, Nostradamus was said to have written a great number of prophecies. The one that appears the most accurate, was his quatrain which alluded to King Henry II, being injured and dying by his eye being pierced. This later happened during a tournament when the King was jousting and is pierced through his eye, resulting in his death days later. What has your research found in the validity of this prediction?

Peter: As I point out in the book, this is what quatrain I.35 says when translated into English verse:

The younger lion shall the old o’erride
On martial battlefield in single duel.
His eyes he’ll put out in a pit outside -
Two forces joined – and then a death most cruel.

It thus describes (a) a duel between an old and a young lion (b) on a battlefield, involving (c) the engagement of two armies, in the course of which (d) the younger lion puts out the eyes of the older (e) in a cage (Latin cavea: ‘animal enclosure’, ‘pit’, as per the definition of the word in Robert Estienne’s Dictionarium Latinogallicum of 1552), (f) with d’or simply the result of the compositor’s mishearing of dehors (‘outside’, ‘separate’). Thereafter (g) the older one suffers a cruel death. The death of King Henri II in 1559, by contrast, occurred as a result of (a) a joust (and not a duel) between two knights who, although aged 40 and 29 respectively, had no major connections (heraldic or otherwise) with lions, (b) at court, and (c) not in the presence of two armies, (d) in the course of which no eyes were put out (the fatal splinter from the Comte de Montgomery’s broken lance in fact entered the King’s brain just *above* the eye), (e) on open ground at the Palais des Tournelles, and not in an animal pit at all.

Keen as modern would-be interpreters are to suggest, by way of explanation, that the caige d’or ‘really’ refers to the ‘golden cage’ of the King’s helmet, the fact is that no contemporary illustration of the event suggests any resemblance between it and a cage, let alone a golden one (both helmets were in fact of the peaked visor type). Whence, no doubt, the fact that neither the Queen nor Nostradamus himself had evidently ever heard of the proposed connection between verse and proposed event. Nor, clearly, had the latter’s admiring secretary Chavigny, who published several adulatory books about him in the 1590s listing his claimed successes in great detail, and who would certainly have seized on this supposed prophetic triumph if it had ever occurred to him. In fact, the suggestion didn’t first appear in print until 1614, 55 years after the event and 48 years after the death of Nostradamus. Indeed, he himself, in an open letter to Jean de Vauzelles dated 1562, associated the event instead with a different verse entirely – namely, III.55 – and even then only by retrospectively changing the word ‘grand’ to read ‘grain’, to fit the fact that Montgomery’s family name was ‘de Lorge’ and that, in French, l’orge meant ‘barley’! In short, then, barely one of the details of the prophecy actually fits the proposed event.

But this, naturally, was not good enough for the re-interpreters. Clearly, there were sufficient superficial similarities to encourage them to persist with the proposed association. The main problem, though, was the expression ‘deux classes’ in the last line. In all of Nostradamus’s thirty-eight other uses of the word ‘classe’ in his Propheties, after all, it always carried its then-perfectly-normal meaning of ‘army’ or ‘fleet’, after the Latin ‘classis’. But, for reasons that seemed obvious (to the re-interpreters, at least), this time it had to be different. And so they felt impelled to drag in the Greek word ‘klasis’, which meant
‘fracture’ or ‘breakage’. This might not have fitted the King’s flesh-wound, but might conceivably have applied to the offending lance – whence, no doubt, the subsequent idea that it had split in two places. But then Nostradamus, if he had wished to, would presumably have used the Latinised form ‘clade’, just as he did in quatrain IV.5.

Certainly various editors of the Prophecies from 1668 onwards evidently realized that the argument was a bit thin. And so some of them quite unashamedly changed the word classes to playes (‘wounds’) – as you would. After all, the verse just had to be made to apply to the death of King Henri II, didn’t it? Meanwhile the fact that the verse actually referred to a vision seen in the clouds over Switzerland in 1547 that was even illustrated in a near-contemporary book by Lycosthenes completely passed them by. The case, then, carries some salutary lessons.

Kala: As the quatrains of Nostradamus have grown more popular, it is said that his prophecies describe World War II and Hitler, referring to him as Hister as well as current events including 9/11 and the towers and an end of days prophecy for December 2012. What can you tell us about these prophecies?

Peter: As with the French Revolution and the First World War, there is absolutely no specific reference in the ‘Propheties’ to any World War, let alone a second one. At best, there are references to a variety of individual events that could have been part of any major conflict, and often demonstrably were. Frequently, indeed, they had already taken place across the same familiar battlefields, or had been anticipated by long-familiar sets of prophecies such as those of the anonymous ‘Mirabilis liber ‘of 1522/3, one of Nostradamus’s prime sources, which nevertheless majors on quite another conflict (namely an anticipated major Arab invasion of Europe, evidently based on the original Muslim expansion of the seventh century). What is particularly striking, though, is the way in which late 20th-century interpreters have seen far more associations with this more recent conflict than with its predecessors – a characteristic piece of retrospective myopia that is an almost inevitable result of the lack of temporal perspective with which we as humans tend to see history and consequently to twist the words of Nostradamus.

The reason for the widespread suggestions that Nostradamus predicted Hitler is simple: five of his predictions (II.24, IV.68, V.29, and Presages 15, 31) contain the name ‘Hister’, spelt with the old ‘long s’ or (in the associated collection of predictions taken from Nostradamus’s annual Almanachs known as the Presages) ‘Ister’. On the other hand, in his Almanach for 1554 Nostradamus himself explains that the word is simply another name for the River Danube. It was in fact first the Greek, and then the Roman name for the lower part of the river, only the upper part having been called Danubius. Which no doubt explains the fact that in two of the above it is coupled with the word ‘Rin’ or ‘Ryn’ (meaning ‘Rhine’, and not ‘nothing’!) – the Rhine having formed, with the Danube, the north-eastern frontier of the ancient Roman Empire whose history and cultural achievements were always in the forefront of the Renaissance seer’s mind.

As for 9/11, this one was inevitable. Surely Nostradamus, given that he allegedly always predicted whatever has just happened, must have predicted this most cataclysmic of events – most cataclysmic, at least, for Americans? Yet it has to be said that nowhere in his prophecies does he ever mention the United States of America, which didn’t exist in his day (even though he and his contemporaries were of course well aware of recent discoveries in the New World). Ignoring the ridiculous Anglophone spoofs that were put about at the time, quatrain I.87 merely says the following:

Puis Arethusa rougira nouveau fluve. Puis Arethuse fera jaillir un nouveau fleuve rouge

Now it has to be said at once that Nostradamus just loved to break down classical place-names into their component bits. Thus, ‘cité neufve’, or ‘New City’, is much more likely to mean a town whose name means precisely that in Greek or Latin than merely any old city with ‘new’ in its name such as New York or New Orleans, while the ‘feu du centre de terre’ of the first line and the earthquakes of the second (to say nothing of the presence of Poseidon) immediately suggest a volcano (‘from the middle of the world’ would instead have been ‘du centre du monde’). In the third line, ‘deux grands’ is perfectly normal contemporary French for ‘two nobles’, and ‘faire la guerre aux ochers’ (‘to make war on the rocks’) is simply a standard idiom for ‘to struggle fruitlessly’. As for Arethusa, she was of course a Greek nymph of springs (there is, for example, a well-known ‘spring of Arethusa’ in Syracuse, Sicily), and not (as some have naturally suggested!) an English anagram of ‘the USA’, and if she sends forth a ‘new, red river’ it is presumably because the volcano is emitting a flow of lava. This suggests the verse-translation:

Earth-shaking flames from the world’s centre roar
And make the earth around ‘New City’ quiver.
Long shall two nobles wage a fruitless war
And Arethusa redden a new river.

The source thus seems to be the ‘Annales Cassini’ (the annals for the years 1000 to 1212 of the major Benedictine abbey and library of Monte Cassino, which had already served as a source for Dante’s ‘Divina Commedia’). These recorded the first known lava eruption in 1036 of Mount Vesuvius overlooking Naples (Greek Neapolis = ‘New City’), at a time when the Lombards of Capua and the Byzantine dukes of Naples were constantly at war over the city prior to the decisive intervention of the Normans. For the year 968, similarly, Leo Marsicanus had reported in the same annals that ‘Mount Vesuvius exploded into flames and sent out huge quantities of sticky, sulphurous matter that formed a river rushing down to the sea.’

Nostradamus, then, is evidently projecting the eruption into the future as an omen of an imminent civil war that will, like the volcano, produce a ‘red river’, this time presumably of blood. But of New York or the 9/11 tragedy he is clearly saying nothing. Much the same applies to the other verse often mentioned in this connection, namely VI.97, which actually mentions the Normans in question:

A suitable English verse-translation of this might be:

Latitude five and forty, sky shall burn:
To great ‘New City’ shall the fire draw nigh.
With violence those flames shall spread and churn
When they conclusions with the Normans try.

Here, once again, Nostradamus refers to a ‘cité neufve’ (presumably the same one), and specifies its latitude as ‘cinq & quarante degrés’. This is not, as is often claimed, the latitude of New York City, even though the state itself does extend that far north. But then neither, strictly, is it that of Naples (Greek Neapolis = ‘New City’). For that, the rather strange expression would have to be read as an abbreviation of ‘cinq[ante minutes] & quarante degrés’ – there ought, in other words, to be a dot after the first word, so as to signify anabbreviation – which, of course, is not unusual in Nostradamus, and would certainly be correct. The burning sky, the bursting forth of flames at a time when the Normans are being put to the test – all this is redolent of the Norman capture of Naples in 1139, the very year when the Annales Cassini also record an explosive eruption of nearby Vesuvius for 1-8 June, when ashes covered Salerno, Benevento, Capua and Naples. There is thus no need for the usual tortured and notably unconvincing explanations to the effect that the ‘Normans’ are somehow really’ the notably multi-racial inhabitants of New York.

And 2012? In his Prophecies Nostradamus mentions neither the End of the World nor the date 2012. This misconception is due almost entirely to the History Channel’s misidentification of a painted collection of prophetic papal emblems from long before Nostradamus’s time, known as the ‘Vaticinia de Summis Pontificibus’, as what it suggestively called ‘The Lost Book of Nostradamus’, assimilated to a widespread misunderstanding of the next significant date from the Mayan calendar. In fact, under the terms of Mayan cosmology, the end of the current world is not due (according to Schele and Freidel’s
authoritative ‘A Forest of Kings’) until day 13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.
13.13.13.13.0.0.0.0 after the theoretical end of the previous world in 3114 BC (an ‘end of the world’ totally unknown either to history or to archaeology!) – which, with each column equal to twenty times its predecessor, lies some 41,341,050,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years in the future, and not in 2012. So we all have time for a cup of coffee yet!

Kala: In your new book on Nostradamus, you share that you believe Nostradamus made his predictions using the “Janus principle’. Janus was the Roman god with two faces, representing beginnings and endings. The month of January is named for Janus, celebrating the new year. How did Nostradamus use the Janus principle in his predictions?

Peter: The ‘Janus principle’ is named after the two-faced Roman god of ends and beginnings after whom January is named and whose archetype we still celebrate at the year’s end by looking back at the old year and forward to the new. It is the age-old principle which states that only by looking back into the past can we can learn what is likely to happen in the future. The approach goes right back to classical times and beyond, and not merely to Cicero. The associated idea that there is no such thing as the future, but only a repetition of the past, consequently has an equally long pedigree. As Cicero’s brother puts it in the De Divinatione (I.lvi.127), ‘Things that are to come do not suddenly spring into existence, but the evolution of time is like the unwinding of a cable: it creates nothing new and merely unfolds each event in turn.’ Or as Nostradamus himself neatly puts it in verse III.79,

The sempiternal order of fate’s chain
Shall thereby in such order come again.

The idea can even be found in the Old Testament, in the form ‘Whatever is has been already, and whatever is to come has been already, and God recalls each event in its turn’ (Ecclesiastes 3:15). Among classical historians, and notably Plutarch, the argument was that, since humans create history, and human nature doesn’t change, history can only repeat itself. Plutarch demonstrated the idea in his ‘Parallel Lives’ by comparing the lives of a whole range of figures from Greek and Roman history respectively, such as Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar – under the terms of which Caesar could consequently be described as ‘another Alexander’.

And, paradoxically, there is ample evidence for the suggestion in the writings of that supposed futurologist whom we know as Nostradamus, and not only in verse III.79. In his royal dedication he refers, rather after Cicero’s analogy, to having ‘reckoned and calculated the present prophecies entirely according to the order of the chain that contains its own revolution [i.e. periodic recurrence]‘. Moreover, not only does he constantly call up reports of ancient omens by classical writers such as Julius Obsequens, but he refers specifically to future figures called ‘Anibal’ and ‘Neron’ in a way which demands that we read them as ‘another Hannibal’ and ‘another Nero’. In his annual Almanachs he mentions and ‘brings to life again’ a whole range of such ancient figures, often preceded by the words ‘a new’ (or other indications to that effect) – among them (in no particular order) Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Pompey, Augustus Caesar, Mark Antony, Lepidus, Marius, Achilles, Hippocrates, Hieron of Syracuse, Brennus, Thrasybulus, Democritus, Jason, Leonidas, Dionysius of Syracuse, Sylla, Themistocles, Ataxerxes, Zoroaster (together with ‘a repetition of the Persian age’), the Carthaginians generally, Scipio, Hannibal, Fabius, Marcellus, Aristides, Caligula, Cato, Claudius, Nero, Ogmius, Palamedes, Pyrrhus, Hippolytus, Parmenion, Trajan, Tiberius, Harmodius and Aristogiton, to mention only a number of classical examples. All of which should of course remind us that the very Renaissance in which Nostradamus was such a prominent, if controversial figure was specifically based on the idea of historical recapitulation – and notably that of resurrecting the arts and culture of ancient Greece and Rome in contemporary Europe so that, as the poet Petrarch famously put it as early as 1338, ‘our grandsons shall be able to walk back into the pure radiance of the past.’

Thus, it could almost be said that Nostradamus, paradoxically, didn’t believe in the future – or at least not in one that had not already been prophesied or foreshadowed on the basis of past events. Indeed, of the 942 verse-predictions in Nostradamus’s seminal book, ‘The Prophecies’, no less than 653 have been traced back with a high degree of probability to earlier events or ancient prophecies, and in many cases to specific historical accounts of the former – accounts which are therefore referred to by some scholars as Nostradamus’s ‘hypotexts’.

Kala: You also discuss the technique of bibliomancy. I’ve played with bibliomancy myself at times with books and even with a deck of cards. Describe how Nostradamus may have used bibliomancy in his work…

Peter: Nostradamus, clearly, was passionately interested in divination of all kinds, as his evident study of Cicero’s ‘De divinatione’ confirms, and so it is reasonable to suppose that even his choice of books and source-texts may have taken some kind of divinatory form.

Was there, then, such a technique available to him? In the event, there was. It was a very ancient divinatory technique, practised (especially among the religious) almost since the dawn of time – or of literary time, at least. It was practised among the ancient Hindus, the Hebrews and the Greeks, and was well known to Christians, too, right up until Nostradamus’s time. Some people still indulge in it today. Among the Romans it was a state-sanctioned technique known as the ‘sortes virgilianae’, and was practised, as the name implies, on the basis of the supposedly prophetic works of the poet Virgil (which Nostradamus himself knew and imitated, calling their author the ‘Prince of Poets’). The Emperors Hadrian, Alexander Severus, Gordian II and Claudius II are all known to have practised it. Even St Augustine of Hippo is said to have identified his future vocation by applying the technique to the text of St Paul’s letter to the Romans.

This technique was and is called ‘bibliomancy’, and it is inconceivable that a man as fascinated by ancient divinatory techniques as Nostradamus was should not have heard of it. Basically, it involves

randomly selecting a book from a bookshelf,
letting it fall open of itself at any page at random,
and then
randomly selecting a passage or passages from that page as a source of guidance.

This final phase can be based either on (as it were) selecting a passage with a pin, possibly while wearing a blindfold (which might be called the ‘strict’ method), or on simply seeing which passage jumps out at the eye (which might be called the ‘psychic’ method). Knowing Nostradamus’s personal proclivities, the latter approach seems more likely to have appealed to him as being more in keeping with his role as an esotericist.

Kala: There is some dispute as to whether Nostradamus was a doctor, an astrologer and a prophet. What has your research shown in this regard?

Peter: I’m afraid I have to report that Nostradamus was almost certainly ‘none of the above’. Not only was he expelled from medical college (we still have the handwritten documents to prove it), but he himself never claimed to be a doctor, and is reported as having on one occasion specifically denied it. His astrology was truly awful (he was constantly putting planets in the wrong houses or signs, for example), and his horoscopes turned out to be almost entirely wrong. And he himself wrote on several occasions that he wasn’t a prophet. You can’t say fairer than that, can you?

Exploring Inner and Outer Changes and Initiations of Light and Energy

Christine Day is a spiritual teacher and light worker who has been working throughout the U.S. and internationally for the last 15 years. By the time she was 31 years old, Christine Day was suffering from advanced systemic lupus and given a short time to live. Soon thereafter, she had a spiritual awakening with the Pleiadians; the energy of this awakening moved her to a place of self healing. She has been symptom-free for the last 25 years. Her powerful and heartbreaking personal story has inspired audiences throughout the world. Recently, I sat down with Christine to discuss her book – Pleiadian Initiations of Light: A Guide to Energetically Awaken You to the Pleiadian Prophecies for Healing and Resurrection.

Kala: Hi Christine, as the author of Pleiadian: Initiations of Light, can you describe to our readers – ‘who are the Pleiadians’?

Christine: The Pleiadians are from the star burst cluster called the Pleiadies. Their planet operates from a 5th dimensional consciousness, which means they operate from an unconditional loving space.They are part of the Universal Consciousness/ part of the oneness, the God consciousness. They are working in alignment with the Spiritual realms here on this earth plane to assist us all in our transition.

Kala: When did you have your first experience with the Pleiadians and what is your current relationship with them?

Christine: In 1986 I had a spiritual awakening, they were with me then, however they did not reveal themselves to me at that time, it was later that I become aware that they were present then and supporting me in my unfolding. My first conscious connection with them was in 1996 when they appeared and communicated directly to me. My current relationship is very strong with them, I feel as though I have become the Pleiadian ambassador for the Pleiadians on this planet. My role is to help to form a bridge between them and the human race, so that they can bring these light initiations to as many people as possible. My role is to bring to people’s attention the presence of the Pleiadians so that they can begin to open up to their help and utilize what is being made available to us now. My role is also to assist the Pleiadians to understand more about our humanness so that they can work more effectively with us to utilize these light initiations. I have a very close connection with them, almost like family. They have played a huge role in my self- realization process. I am in daily contact with them.

My working relationship with them is to channel their light initiations and create workshops for practitioners and seminars for the public. So far there are 14 levels of the practitioner work, and this work is called ‘Frequencies of Brilliance’. During the workshops the Pleiadians are present transmitting the initiating energies to the students, I work along side the Pleiadians, so we work together. I have a personal mission with them, assisting them to understand the human being and how they need to approach us in order for the work to be received and more easily utilized.

Kala: When speaking with them, did they share their mission for being on the earth plane and what their intentions are while visiting here?

Christine: Yes, their mission is to assist us as a 3rd dimensional planet to move through a transitional phase into a 4th/5th dimensional planet. This transition is to take place within the time frame between 2009 and until the end of 2012. The transition involves a change in our consciousness as a human race, beginning to move into a conscious awakening of our divine aspect of ourselves. The Pleiadians role is to assist individuals who are willing to receive these light initiations. Understanding that the light initiations themselves are to facilitate the anchoring of each persons individual divine essence within the cells of their own body. They are also anchoring the ‘Self Healing Prophecy’ energies for our accelerated awakening, it’s as though we are being given a grace period at this time for this accelerated anchoring of our light into the cells of our body, coming back into remembering who we are, and being able to access a clarity, knowledge and understanding of another level of ourselves.

Kala: In your book, you discuss a self-healing prophecy as well as tools for self-healing. Describe the techniques from the book and how they are implemented.

Christine: There are twelve chapters in the book that are specifically designed as initiating chapters, each chapter has a track on a CD that has chanelled energies within it. This allows the reader to read the chapter and then receive an awakening of initiating energies of light. The light initiations hold powerful frequencies of love that allow the reader to begin to align with a higher aspect of their spiritual nature. These energies on the CD are multi-dimensional, so each time you listen to the CD you receive a whole new experience, and receive another level of your healing light to awaken and self heal.

The Pleiadian’s work with the connection to the heart, assisting you to align with your sacred heart, it’s through the sacred heart that transformation and healing is made possible. It’s through the heart that we can align with our true spiritual nature, to our unique divine Self. It’s through the heart that we can move into an alignment with the oneness, that we can connect to the truth that we are a part of the life force that exist within the Universe. But most importantly it links us to a connection to all human beings here on this earth plane. So that we begin to move back into the Truth that we are not alone here, that we are connected to all life force. There is a track on the CD connecting you deeply into the heart, this allows you to work through the book with your connection to your sacred heart.

One of the other techniques is what I call Formations. They are created by sacred geometrical forms, and create a 4th/5th/6th dimensional energy that allows the reader to be able to move into direct experiences of aligning to their own light selves. Formations are introduced into the book so that self healing can take place. There are many levels to self healing, there is physical healing, emotional healing and spiritual healing. The formations help the reader to re-align back to a level of themselves that is beyond the 3rd dimensional space. A space where you can actually access an aspect of your unique divine aspect. Here you can utilize your own sacred energy to self heal physically, reconnect and align with higher levels of your own light so that you can begin an accelerated awakening process within your self. Your energetic field will expand as you reconnect with the Self on this level. Each time you take this Formation journey you have a different experience, a different journey. This is because of the multi-dimensionality of the channeling. Formations also give you an opportunity to build a personal relationship with the Pleiadians because they play an important role during your journey in the Formation. The Pleiadians participate with you within the Formation, assisting you in opening up into these experiences.

The journey into the Stargate with the Pleidians is exciting and transformational. It gives you an opportunity for realignment back to your light Self, recollecting aspects of your personal power and moving into a place where you open to a new clarity of truth within yourself. In this high dimensional space you can access a knowledge and understanding of your mission here on this planet in this lifetime. It’s about moving into a remembrance of your self, and receiving yourself in a new way.

The Cocoon is another powerful process that is in the book. The reader creates their own Cocoon space with the use of a channeled CD track, each time you use it your Cocoon expands and becomes more energetically complete to hold you so that you can rest. The energy of the Cocoon allows you to rest from all the 3rd dimensional intensity on this earth plane. The cocoon space promotes physical healing and a deep rest state for the cells of the body, assisting the body to de-stress itself. It allows for renewal and regeneration in the cells and organs. The Cocoon promotes an incredible environment for deep integration of all the light frequencies that you have received in the various journey’s that are available with the Pleiadians.

Kala: Are the Pleiadians open to communicating with anyone who is willing to communicate with them? If so, how would one go about opening a dialogue with them?

Christine: In my book, ”Pleiadian Initiations of Light”, there are process’s that the Pleiadians have created to make it possible for anyone to begin to develop a personal relationship with them. Because they operate in a higher dimensional space than the 3rd dimension it is necessary for us to move into a different energetic space in order for them to communicate with us. They use thought transference for communication. They have set up the use of sacred geometrical tools to create energetic spaces in which we can move into so that we have the opportunity to experience them and build these relationships with them. They meet you in your own commitment to your self, the more you are willing to show up the more they will make available to you. As your own vibration expands you are then able to communicate with them on a day to day basis without the assistance of these process’s. The Pleiadians have made a commitment to work with anyone who is using this book. That means if you give your permission and call them forward they will support you in your initiations. They absolutely respect our free will as human beings and will not enter your energetic space without this permission.

Kala: Many teachers and healers share their insight that humanity is in a period of evolution into the 4th and 5th dimensions. What are your feelings about this evolution, including the changes which will occur and what the end result will be from this shift?

Christine: The end result from this shift that is coming, as I energetically see it, is mass transformation, transformation of our planet both physically and energetically. Transformation of our consciousness as human beings, so that we all move completely into a 4th/5th dimensional consciousness. This means that we begin to live in a more united consciousness awareness of our inner connection that we have to all human beings. We begin to align with our natural Spiritual nature this allows us to begin to live with a deeper awareness of the Spiritual realms, and the life force that exists within the Universe. The shifts that will happen have always been going to happen, and now is the time.

It has already begun in many ways but there will be an acceleration of changes taking place. There will be earth changes here on our planet, some of them intense, the earth as I see it will be going through a birth. Birth brings upheaval and change, not always comfortable. We as human beings need to be ready on a conscious level. CONSCIOUS is the key word, as a race we have lived very unconsciously on many levels, it is time for each individual to take stock of what they are doing and how they are doing it. I know we all need to move forward now to become more aligned to our light Selves. This will greatly assist all of us who will be here during the changes that are coming. We need to be prepared to open to our connections to a greater part of ourselves and with this connection we will be able to move with the transition that is coming. There really is nothing to fear, but there is definitely a need to prepare ourselves energetically for this transition. There is tremendous support available at this time for our transformation. I am aware of the Spiritual realms and Pleiadians working together to assist us in this transformation. The Pleiadians see this book as an important tool that is needed to prepare us for these changes that are coming, to create a vehicle in which can begin to awaken so that we can consciously participate in this transformational time.

Kala: Are the Pleiadians the only group in contact with humanity or are there others? Are you in contact with other groups beyond the Pleiadians?

Christine: There are many groups assisting the earth at this time. Each group is working differently because there are many facets involved with the changes. But they are working collectively, in alignment with each other. The Spiritual realms are working along side all of these groups. Know there is one consciousness between them all, they all move together with one purpose. I personally am in contact with the Pleiadians and the spiritual realms.

Kala: Can you share some of your spiritual experiences from your journey in this lifetime and do you have memories of previous lifetimes with the Pleiadians?

Christine: My first spiritual awakening came at the age of 31. I had just been given a short time to live, I had advanced Systemic Lupus. I received an understanding at that time that I had created something to kill myself, and in the same moment understood that I could also create my own healing. I went home and knew I had to live differently somehow. Looking back I now understand that in that moment I actually took back my power, took back the responsibility to heal myself. Six months later I was meditating and suddenly I was filled with this amazing light and a healing process was given to me, it was as though I had studied something all my life and I new each aspect of it intimately. There was peace and love surrounding me. That was my first experience. In Israel at the Sea of Galilee I was visiting the town of Jesus, Capernaum. I was given a message to go down to the sea shore. I stood looking out into the water, in the distance I could see a figure walking towards me. The figure was walking on the water, there was light all around, it was Jesus. I stood watching him coming closer and closer, there was a tremendous love coming from him. I was sobbing from the intensity of love that was surrounding me. He came to me and put his hands on my head, he spoke telling me that I had to take myself off the cross, that I had put myself on the cross and I was the only one who could take myself off. That I had come to live my life and resurrect myself.

He spoke of the importance of love, and began to share with me about what love was and how I needed to bring the love to all that I worked with. He spoke of my mission here working with people and how important it was that I bring his message of self resurrection to them. I spent a few hours with Jesus that day. It was such a profound and emotional heart opening experience. It felt as though my heart had burst open, and I received tremendous healing from this encounter. Jesus visited me many times over a period of the next few years, always continuing to teach me about the truth, about self devotion, and living in a discipline of self love. I transformed each time he was with me. I was brought into a state of such peace and grace the time he spent with me. He still comes to me, mostly when I am working with groups of people. He is a gift in my life.

I was given guidance to go to Medjogoria in Bosnia, it is where Mother Mary has appeared to many.
It was an extremely cold day, with intense winds and black clouds filling the sky it was so dark almost like night fall was coming, yet it was mid morning. I asked myself, “What am I doing here?” I was told to walk up to the top of the mountain. This is the mountain that on a fine day thousands walk a path up to the top to receive a healing from Mother Mary, hoping that she will appear. That day not one person was on the path, the weather was so extreme with howling winds no one would even attempt to go onto the mountain. I knew I had to go, I dressed as warmly as I could and began the long slow climb upwards. It was freezing, the wind was so strong I knew I was going to be blown off at any moment. I was angry. When I finally got to the top the wind was so extreme I sat in the only place that could give me some safety and some relief from the cold and the wind. I sat in the base of a huge metal cross that exist at the top of this mountain. It was dark, I was freezing, I asked myself again, ”what was I doing here?” Suddenly there was a brilliant light, I looked up the black clouds had parted and there in the sky was Mother Mary, I was filled with this incredible warmth and love. She spoke to me, “ you need to know that I am here for you, it’s important that you understand that I am not here to assist you in your work I am here just for you, to hold you as your mother never held you. Call me and I will always be there.” Tears streamed down my face, I could barely breathe as her love poured into me, into my heart. I sat there filled with her warmth for a long time and then knew it was time to try and walk down the mountain.

My past lifetimes have never been revealed to me, I have been told they are unimportant to my process in this lifetime. All my beginning experiences as a child gave me enough to work on and move through in this lifetime. So I am unaware of having a previous lifetime with the Pleiadians.

Kala: What have the Pleiadians said about 2012 and the future in general?

Christine: I have been given an understanding firstly of the energetic changes that are taking place in 2012. There us a great importance placed on the need for the change of consciousness on this earth plane. We need to move into a CONSCIOUS state of living, that means that we live consciously with Spirit, we open consciously to being part of the oneness in the Universe, we open up to the inner connection of all human beings, and we begin to align to our natural spiritual natures. We are being asked to begin moving in this direction, towards awakening, so that we are able to align with these energetic changes.

The Pleiadians have anchored the energy of the Self Healing Prophecy in order for us to be ready for 2012 so we can meet the changes that are coming on an energetic level and on a physical level. They talk about the changing times involving earth changes, I don’t know when these dramatic earth changes will be taking place. They are beginning now, but the major changes that are coming, I don’t have a specific date. I have been shown that there will be big changes in the land forms, especially on the sea borders world wide. The earth will be going through a birth, energetic and physical, and at the same time we will be birthing into a new consciousness. Birth is never easy, but it is very worthwhile. We are all being held with love and given support in the midst of this change.

Beyond 2012 – End of Days or New Beginning?

Marie D. Jones is a best-selling author, screenwriter, researcher, radio show host and public speaker. Recently, I sat down with Marie to discuss her work including her book - 2013: The End of Days or A New Beginning. as well as gathering her thoughts on our future and earth changes.

Kala: Hi Marie, thanks for taking the time to sit down and chat about your work. In 2007, you co-wrote the book – Supervolcano: The Catastrophic Event That Changed The Course of Human History, Could Yellowstone Be Next. This book reports on the eruption of the Toba supervolcano in Indonesia, which was the largest volcanic eruption in two million years. How destructive was this volcano and what happened around the planet during this time?

Marie: Toba was massive, releasing over 3,000 times the energy of Mount St. Helens. As a result, the planet was plunged into a volcanic winter that lasted about six years or so, and Toba also created a population bottleneck, which altered our genetic evolution. When Toba erupted 74,000 years ago, there were approximately 100,000 humans, and the supervolcano culled that down to an estimated 2,000 – 8,000 survivors. It is from those survivors we all exist today, and the Toba Catastrophe Theory claims that this event also caused the extinction of all other branches of humans except ours – Homo Sapien. Population bottlenecks occur in nature now and then, and sometimes species go extinct. In the case of us humans, we bred like crazy to make up for the lost population, and created a sort of “survivor genetic line.” This explains the reduction in genetic variation of our species, even as we have increased genetic differentiation. It also could explain why genetic differentiation among humans is a more recent phenomenon that seemed to have occurred around 75,000 years ago, and may be directly linked to the Toba event.

Kala: Is the next potential supervolcanic eruption predicted for Yellowstone National Park? What are geologists and other researchers reporting on these studies?

Marie: Yellowstone is certainly a supervolcano to watch, although it is not overdue as some people have mistakenly said. There is activity there and scientists are monitoring the caldera, but there are other supervolcano sites that could potentially erupt, including one that may be linked to the Southern San Andreas fault, according to research done at the Scripps Institute. Long Valley, California caldera could be just as devastating as Yellowstone, and it has the special characteristic of potentially being triggered by a major quake along the Southern San Andreas, which we are told is imminent. There is also unsettling news that a supervolcano may exist beneath the Mount St. Helens region, and we all know how active that region is! But as of today, there are no indicators of the kind of activity suspected prior to a super eruption to have earth scientists worried. Leave that to the doomsayers!

Kala: What are your thoughts about the earthquakes and tsunami’s occurring around the earth recently? Are there more to come? Also, what about the report that the 8.8 earthquake in Chile shifted the earth’s axis by eight centimeters, which removes 1.26 microseconds off of Earth’s daily rotation, therefore altering time?

Marie: The Earth is a living planet and the ground beneath our feet is never still. Quakes happen all the time, and we are much more aware of them now because of the availability of mass media. And when quakes happen in highly populated areas, thus killing a lot of people, they cause more fear and panic than those that occur in the middle of nowhere. But the many large quakes we are experiencing are not an indicator that the world will end, just Mother Nature up to her usual tricks. In fact, here in California, I learned that we had about 300 LESS quakes last year than the year before. And yes, massive quakes can indeed move the earth beneath our feet, and create mountain ranges, valleys and all sorts of changes to the landscape. What is really frightening is that more and more humans are choosing to live in coastal areas all over the world, thus increasing the chances of people dying from tsunamis. This is a human choice, though. Tsunamis are natural occurrences after some massive quakes, and only destroy villages that are in their path. We are the ones who choose to build those villages. I don’t mean to sound callous, I live in a quake zone, but it is my choice and when it happens, I cannot blame God or the devil or even nature for that choice. I am, however, fully trained in disaster preparedness and response.

Kala: Your latest work is: 2013: The End of Days or a New Beginning. There’s so much hype about 2012, movies, books, theories, arguments and wild speculations. Why do you think so many people have latched on to one calendar date from a culture that is not around to explain their date process?

Marie: We did it in the year 2000, too, with all the Y2K fears. I think we have a natural attraction to death and destruction, a sort of collective death wish, which explains the popularity of movies and books about disasters and end of the world scenarios. We get some kind of deep psychological satisfaction by predicting our own demise, and in the case of religious belief, a certain righteousness comes into play. The idea that one religion’s followers will be saved and all the other sinners will die. Why we latched on to the Mayan cyclical end date is beyond me. Most likely because it is the “next available date,” and when nothing much happens, people will find some obscure date in a holy text or prophecy and that will become the new end of the world focus. The Mayan people themselves, and their elders have spoken out about this quite recently, did not start the end days interpretations. Those are strictly tied to Western religious traditional beliefs. The Mayans were, as most, if not all ancient civilizations, people who believed in the cycles of nature and life and marked those cycles in their calendars just as we do. But when one cycle ends, we have NO reason to believe they were suggesting gloom and doom and extinction. They simply may cycle right back to year zero and start a whole new cycle. Just like every end of December we cycle back to January.

Kala: Let’s delve into some of the prophecies regarding 2012. First question, will earth changes occur in 2012 which will disrupt our lives with disruptive sunspot cycles and monster storms?

Marie: I again suspect there will be plenty of activity that will all be attributed of course to 2012. Storm intensity and frequency is part of long term climate changes we are seeing, and that will increase over the years. Sunspot activity is supposed to peak at the end of an 11 year cycle in 2012, although many scientists have now gone on record to say the crux of the cycle may not be as intense as first thought. BUT the sunspot activity can certainly disrupt our communications systems, electronics, etc. Again, though, we would suffer greatly because we have chosen to make technology such a part of our lives. The sun is just doing its thing, but we are now so technology-dependent, that yes, it could be catastrophic in that sense. I think most of the chaos and anarchy would again be because of human choice, not Mother Nature’s intention to punish us or put an end to us.

Kala: Theories abound regarding global warming including that resources will dwindle to such an extreme that it will force masses of people to move to different areas, which could disrupt nations and as a result, political structures. What is your opinion on this theory?

Marie: My father was a card carrying Republican. He is now totally apolitical because of this issue. He is a geophysicist, a respected scientist, and he and hundreds of his colleagues, whether earth scientists or marine or climate scientists all agree that global climate change is going to make life very different for our children and their children. The only people who are fighting the truth of these climate changes are those who have a vested interest in a political ideology, in the oil, coal and gas industries, and the religious right, who believe that the Earth is ours to dominate (although the Bible said we had “dominion” over, not “domination.”). This is an issue that enrages me, because the science behind it is solid and terrifying, yet we are only hearing from radio talk show hosts and politicians who have NO CLUE about the actual science behind long term climate patterns, and the evidence in the geological record. Even tree rings show clues. Humans disrupt their environment. Our waste disrupts water and soil. Our pollution dirties the air we breath. But few people are willing to take the kind of responsibility to own up to this and change their way of living to stop this train wreck, and that is why so many people side with the likes of Ted Nugent, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Again, these are people with their own personal agendas that do not involve the care of the planet and the quality of life of our future generations. It makes me livid, too. This is truly a situation where we’ve traded science for selfishness.

Kala: The other side of the prophecies focus on time accelerating and consciousness evolving at a rapid pace, creating new technologies and advancements in healing and medicine. Your thoughts?

Marie: I absolutely see the acceleration of the sheer amount of information that is coming at us, information we have to process and give meaning to, or reject entirely. Our brains are being stretched to the limit! Technology is developing exponentially, and sure, by 2012 we may be seeing things we cannot even imagine now. That is how fast things are moving. The good part of this is that human consciousness is being forced to evolve at that same exponential rate in order to keep up with the changes in our exterior environment. It’s adapt or die. If our consciousness does not shift to become more evolved, we will fall into a state of complete anarchy, individually and collectively. I am a big “fan” of novelty theory, singularity theory and time wave acceleration. We can FEEL things are speeding up. People’s lives are frenzied. If we don’t change something, it will no doubt get to a point of no return and we will be forced to change. I’d rather change by choice.

Kala: Getting to the crux of the situation, December 21, 2012 — overwhelming destruction, instant transformation or just a date that marks a period of time of an age and evolution?

Marie: Would you settle for a little bit of each? I think we are going to see all three. Somewhere in the world people will suffer overwhelming destruction, as in Chile and Haiti this year. I suspect more people will be open to transformation, so that will cause its own shift. And for those who continue to keep their heads in the sand, it will be business as usual. That is just my opinion, though. For all I know, the earth may end completely OR we will all be saved be an advanced race of beings. I don’t think any of us know what will happen until we get there.

Kala: Marie, you’ve also written the book 11:11 The Time Prompt Phenomenon. Many people report a connection to this time, even to the point of looking at a digital clock at this exact time repeatedly or waking up at that time and seeing the time on the clock. Is there a significance to this number pattern?

Marie: Yes, 11:11 is related to the 2012 phenomenon. It is the predicted time of the beginning of the winter solstice on December 21st, according to the Naval Observatory’s atomic clock, which is said to be the most accurate timekeeper we have. Hundreds of thousands of people see 11:11, although I suspect that many do because they have heard about it on the Net and thus begin to notice it. Our brains seek out pattern and will make something a habit once it does, so a person sees a specific number sequence once, then twice, then again and it becomes a pattern their brain then actually seeks out. But there is a theory as well that 11:11 is a message from the Universe, or higher beings, prompting us to wake up and be aware. I think perhaps the truth sits somewhere in between. Anything that alerts us to the importance of the present moment is a Godsend!

Kala: There are many number based patterns in nature like the golden ratio and the fibonacci sequence, referred to as sacred geometry. What part do sacred numbers and mathematical equations play in the universe?

Marie: Many scientists in a variety of arenas will agree that mathematics is the foundation of the laws of the Universe. Numbers play a critical role in how we perceive and shape reality, and have always been considered sacred, although modern humans tend to see numbers as trivial. Ancient people used number ratios and patterns found in nature to build places of worship and sacred sites. They understood that the Universal language was mathematics. Some people will say no, it’s music, but what is at the basis of music? NUMBERS. It’s amazing how intricately designed the natural world is, and yes, it is as if it were designed by a Master Mathematician! There is even a theory that the Universe itself can be explained using just six mathematical ratios, which I wrote about in “11:11 – The Time Prompt Phenomenon.” It is simply stunning that if any of those ratios was off by the slightest bit, we would not exist!

The future has science and spirituality working in tandem to unravel the mysteries of the universe. Mystics have proclaimed these universal truths for eons, and now the time has come where the general consciousness of humanity is open to receiving this knowledge as we shift from the third dimension, into the 4th and 5th dimension. During this new age of enlightenment in which we are living, science is beginning to catch up and catch on to what the mystics have been teaching and are discovering tangible ways to study these teachings through quantum physics.

This Friday, December 18th on the Explore Your Spirit with Kala show, I’m speaking with Dr. Marc Seifer, author of: Transcending the Speed of Light: Consciousness, Quantum Physics and the Fifth Dimension. Dr. Seifer shares his study of the new scientific understanding of consciousness and the mind as a fifth dimension of reality, including the existence of the fifth dimension–one of mind, where time is transcended and the barrier of the speed of light is actually a gateway demarking the fifth dimension.
